The one thing that will make me leave a table fast.

Though I have faith in the mathematics there is one thing that will get me to leave a table faster. That is when the deck goes negative and the dealer gets a 5 or 6 card 21! I realize that it sounds like some ploppy logic thrown in there. Again, I do Wong out when the count goes negative, but those 5 and 6 card 21s makes me leave vapor trails!

The count goes negative (indicating an abundance of low cards, which help the dealer) and a bunch of low cards come out. What more do you want from card counting? Would you still leave if the count went only slightly negative and all the small cards to make a 5-card 21 for the dealer bring it well into the positive territory?

Then I would Wong back in.

It seems that when the dealer gets those 5 and 6 card hands at a neg. count it "reminds" me to leave the table.

Yeah, but you leave the table because of the negative count, not because of the cards the dealer received.

It's best to have an exit point and stick to it. I do not like to leave until I lose a hand however. I don't know if sims support this thinking. Probably not. Anyone?

there is a very weak correlation to the prospects of winning another hand after having won a hand as compared to winning a hand after having lost a hand:

I sometimes have ploppyish thoughts like this BJLFS, although your example specifically is not one of them - hey the count just shot up (unless the dealers eating up the aces)!

Sitting at a table, up 40 units, every one at the table is having fun and enjoying themselves and on a bit of winning streak. Then, an obnoxious couple sits down to play, with obvious domestic problems, and just sucks the energy out of the table, and everyone starts to begin losing. The couple's cursing, bickering with each other, etc., really f***ing annoying.

Soon the other ploppies have the "common sense" to leave. I on the other hand as the know it all AP decide to stick around, despite the fact I wasn't feeling to good about the thought of playing with these losers. I did initially think to myself "hmm, getting kind of late in my session. These two are idiots, I can't envision them leaving the table winning (and of course there is some correlation between how well the ploppies do and how well I do). They seem like complete losers".

Of course, as soon as they sat down, my +40 units steadily evaporated, and I left down 10 units, it was uncanny. Ah, should have just trusted my ploppy instincts :) The ploppies were smart enough to leave. On the other hand, maybe not so ploppyish, maybe I did lose my "enthusiasm" and edge when they sit down. Wish I did leave when I didn't feel right :)

Backwards thinking. You should have your minimun bet out when the hand starts and the dealer just took several small cards to make the count more favorable. Probably should have wonged before the hand started if the count was that bad.

What if the count was + then a bunch of high cards came out? What I am saying is that if the count just tanked and the dealer just pulled a 5 or 6 card 21, then I leave even faster. Also, what if the count is still negative after the positive cards. All this considered I leave vapor trails at the table.

Because I play in PA where seats were unavailable most of the times (now it is better), I tend to play it all. So when true count reaches -3 and there are two or more decks to play, I always leave table to have a drink (most PA casinos have free soft drink) or rest room run. Then watch from distance and get back to the table when it is over. Of course, when I got back to my seat, there were always ploppies reporting to me that it was a terrible shoe and I am lucky to miss most of it.

How about when the count is super positive and the dealer pulls a 5 card 21?

Good times.

It does get on my nerves but I do stay at the table. Remember it does mean that the cards are moreso in the player's favor.

More than once I have questioned whether in fact I may have jumped ten accidentally in my count. But you're exactly right. When it gets on your nerves the most, in fact the cards are more in your favor than ever. It's that persistent old feeling about how the cards are running. Oh, sh#t, you say to yourself, just when I need a ten, the cards are running low!

Flow Disruptions

I leave when a player next to me is making strategy mistakes, which breaks the flow of the cards and hurts the whole table.

Not even BS mistakes, I leave when they hit 12 v 2 and A7 v 10 and get a 10. They just took the dealers bust card those idiots! Don't they know we have to play as a team???

Ploppy superstition

Gamblor, I keep laughing at your posts. I hope you are kidding. If they keep taking the dealers "hand making" card do you stay in those situations because the ploppy is obviously psychic and keeps helping you. Your logic is like making the wrong plays with your hand because you saw some idiot won one time doing it so it is obviously a good play. I admit it can be frustrating when that happens but try paying attention to how many times his bonehead play saves your arse. You will find they balance out. Either of the next two cards are equally likely to be the dealers bust card. Do you decide whether your statistically correct play was right by what cards fell? I hope not, this is the same thing.

Yes, we really do need a sarcasm emoticon on this site

I'm just playing along with Friendo's joke. At least I hope HE was joking
