A friend is going to LV on Friday. She doesnt count but I wrote down BS for her. She's gonna play at the Sahara as its all about fun and they have $1.00 bj. Is the $1.00 bj CSM's? Also does anyone know if the $1.00 beer, shots and hot dogs are 24/7 or just at special times? Thanks. :joker:

Not Good

I believe the $1 bj at Sahara is 6-5 bj. I also believe hand shuffled. If someone doesn't post a better place to play. Regardless, tell her to play slow, at full tables with slow dealers. She will lose less. Also, talking to the dealer can slow things down. A stopping point on a win can also be nice for a BS player. Do not bet over table minimum.

i was there six months ago and i remember it being the same as nighthawk listed. i will be going back to vegas in a month and if the question is still unanswered, i can update. i plan on practicing a bit at those tables before moving onto red chips somewhere else.

The $1 blackjack game at the Sahara has a time rake. I think it's every 1/2 hr., everyone at the table pays a fee. Anyone who joins the table must immediately prepay the full fee even if there's only one minute left in the 1/2 hour period. I forget WHAT the fee is, but I'm sure that if you call the Sahara and ask for the BJ pit, someone will give you the full details.

Anyone who thinks that this is a good place to practice is a fool.

ive never paid a rake at the Sahara and I've played there a few times.

in fact i was there 6 months ago. cashed in $100 and got $100 back in chips. They NEVER asked for a time rake.

I just called them and you're RIGHT - no time rake. The PB told me that a couple of months ago they TRIED it for a while & it lasted about a week. Shows how often I go into THAT toilet!

Ya. I guess I could have stated that they might have changed it since i was last there...

Honestly I don't plan on being there long at all. Just want to get some more practice in casino experience without killing my trip bankroll. I figured a $1 place was good to do that at.

I agree with you though, if it had a time rake, i would NEVER practice there.

It's a lousy game for sure, and the $1 beers are what you'd expect—garbage. The $1 minimum is great for the BS player, but I would recommend playing at some other low-end dumps that are very nearby, such as Circus Circus or Slots of Fun. The games are considerably better and generally run at about $3 table mins, if I recall correctly. The drinks are also $1 cheaper than the Sahara special if you're playing.
