third base/first base

I was just wondering about seating in a double-deck game; I usually sit at third base due to old habits and because you can see all cards played (if dealt up) which may result in a change in play due to indexes. However, since your bet is made obviously before the cards are dealt, would it be better to be at first base to catch the first cards the count was based on? (Especially with high counts.) Ideally it would be best if you're playing alone or with minimum other players, but this is generally not the case where and when I play. I'm asking since the count can fluctuate much quicker in DD (let alone SD) than in 6D, one dealt hand with more than a couple players can often enough change the true count quite a bit on one hand, especially towards the end. And I'm sure we've all had situations where a nice positive true count indicated a higher bet, only to see all the high cards go to others first and you yourself get a low card at third base. I'm just asking for opinions and feedback on this, what others think. Or if the whole topic is pretty much irrelevant. Thanks.

Sit at 2nd, you can then see cards to the left and right.

At some places, third base and first base are the most observed locations, so be aware of that.

If in a face down game, I prefer to sit somewhere in the middle. That way, more often then not I can see at least the two adjacent hands.

As for who gets what cards - the count only relates the composition of the remaining cards, the order is up for grabs. You're just as likely at third base to receive the natural or 20 as you are at first base.

Sitting at first base, but playing the second spot on the table lets you spread to two hands easier than any other spot.
