I guess surveillance personel aren't supposed to use their brains either...instead their supposed to use their hands and develop carpel tunnel syndrome. :rolleyes:

This gives me an idea I could market though: A walking stick with positive and negative notches to keep track of the count, or better yet, a lucky horseshoe!

Conclusion:

Bad for CC'ers, but replacing the brains of surveillance personnel with the "slick stick" would be excellent news for ST'ers. (What do you mean advantage player, he is betting the farm & taking insurance of the top and in deep neg. counts?)

Absolutely rediculous. Let's get a stick to help count cards whereas our brains can't handle the task of counting and watching placed bets.

Since it's so difficult for surveillance to do those two things at once, no wonder card counting is impossible ;)

This is so scary. This could easily drive away and scare the counters off the casino.

BS. They could ask CC ers how to do this effectively. How does the user not get confused while switching between negatives and positives.

Personally, I would use the stick in a different way: with two thumbs.

If a high card comes up, move the right thumb down. If a low card comes up, move the left thumb down.
When both thumbs collide (you feel that), move both thumbs up to the start.

The even a retard could use it, no need for additions or substractions, and you look like a complete moron.

Yes it does... Also I heard from elsewhere its impossible to track a 6 deck shoe. And you should double down when there are a lot of 10's in the deck, and you have a 10 v dealer 4.

There's many more like him. Just saw a floor person advise a player not to split 9's against dealer 4. "Never break up a made hand".

He may be knowingly giving wrong advice, though MOST advice given by casino staff is correct.

Yes normally I would be wary this might be the case. But in this instance I think the floor person genuinely didn't know. He was very young, and presumably inexperienced.

Also I told the player the right thing to do was split, he further questioned the floor person about this, and the floor person seemed dumbfounded, and didn't know what to say.

So a good lesson learned, if you want to glean more information from PC, tell the player it was the wrong move, they might bring it up with PC.

It's easier to keep the count on your fingers than with that glorified ruler. And what casino would trust their blackjack game security to a $20 piece of plastic. A computer can automatically scan each card and count in multiple systems. It would be better to hire ex-counters to the surveillance staff than to use this slick stick.

The stick is stupid, and regular counting is faster and easier. However, I wish I invented that stick, because you know security VPs or Surveilance Supervisors will gladly throw down a purchase order for $199 (or whatever) for the stick and DVD.

Casinos really DO need to be wary... not of counters but of idiots selling some assinine useless product to casinos based on scare tactics. "If you don't buy this (piece of crap) product from me, those evil counters are going to grind some money out of you." The people selling sh*t like this to the casinos have their eye on squeezing a buck out of the casinos every bit as much or perhaps even more so than a few counters. A lot of hype about counters being a threat to a casino (which is completely false) and then having them pay for some sort of product or service from you? Who is the REAL threat to the casino's bottom line?

Today's blackjack games have the countermeasures built right into the game but people like this clown go out of their way to perpetuate "urban legend" that a few counters could actually be an issue. Scare tactics work though and this clown is living proof that if you imply a perceived threat and play into their sense of paranoia, you can rake them over the coals and take advantage of them financially. He is selling ice cubes and the casinos are the Eskimos he is trying to sell them to. Unfortunately, they are gullible Eskimos and will buy all the ice he has on hand!

A basic count in itself is no threat to today's blackjack games. Not only that, most counters are using a pathetically simple count, are underfinanced and are likely to succumb and bust out simply because they THINK they can win, making them likely to lose more than the average gambler. This HELPS the casino's bottom line rather than hurting it. A simple count in itself is not enough to win at today's blackjack games. You better have a lot more than just that in your arsenal if you want to succeed.

This asswipe trying to sell his training DVD and modernized remake of a Chinese abacus is the equivalent of a man wandering into a village in medieval times and telling the villagers that a dragon is coming to kill them all and that their only hope is to purchase "magic swords" from him that are the only thing they will be able to kill the dragon with--- "There's a sucker born every minute."

I just just watched that dumb as## ,with his little ruler. What an idiot. I just wonder what happens when his thumb in the middle row, say on 4 or 8, when a "6" is dealt? he still has to remember if he is at a +,or,- count, or he will go the wrong way. I like the comment he made, "It almost works 100% of the time. Kind of like a line I remember from a movie. "I'm 100% right, 50% of the time." I wonder if the P.B.'s would let me use one of those things at a table? My old 9th grade english teacher would have taken that little ruler and smacked the dog shi* out of that guy.
