Thunder Valley's 75% pentration at double deck

#1
Drove to Thunder Valley and expected a 50% shuffle point. Played a $25 double deck table and the dealer kept dealing past this. I thought it was a mistake. When she took the next two decks out of the shuffling machine, she placed them in the discard tray. She placed a cut card through a slot that was near the bottom. Sitting at third base base I couldn't believe it. It was cut 26 cards from the bottom. Quite a change since I last played. The rules are h17,d9,ds. 9 tables with 7 $25-$300, one with $50-$500, and another one with $100-$1000 in the high limit room. All the double deckers used the 26 card shuffle point with the slot. Licked my chops and won after falling behind.

Competition from the recently opened Red Hawk casino could have been a factor for the dramatic change at Thunder Valley. Red Hawk's double deck penetration is about 60%-75% depending on the dealer. The Sacramento area could be the blackjack capital of the world. What other casino venue offers better penetration on its double deck games?

There's a few places I won't talk about in public, and a few dealers I won't talk about anywhere. But 75% is awfully good.

I checked them out last month or so and they were burning 1/2 a deck first, then delt 1 deck. They are very tight on everything-50% pen at best -cut card at 3 decks of six.tell me they have changed -- I live 10 min. away!:eyepatch:

I went again on Saturday June 20th and the same great conditions exist. 8 tables of double deck (h17,d9,ds) with 75% guaranteed penetration. Take that 10 minute drive and see for yourself.

It's not 75% pen if they burn half a deck off the top then play down to 75%. Thats 50% pen. Can we get a third party to clear this up?
Thunder Valley doesn't burn "half a deck off the top then play down to 75%." Again, it is 75% penetration from the top of the decks with a cut card at 26 cards. Just trying to pass on good information to this group.

you are correct. The game has changed since I was last out to thunder valley. On a Saturday night with full tables I watched them deal well below a half deck . If you've got the bank roll to play a 50 dollar min. table(only one table was 25 that night) go for it. I'll check out the stacked deck thing today. On another note I spent the weekend of the 20th in reno. Played a bit at calneva. I could swear that one dealer I watched was holding high cards at the bottom. Count plus ten at the end of the deck, he boxes the deck very quickly several times and then does several very uneven shuffles. I didn't play his game. found a green dealer who actually shuffled correctly and won some money at sinlge deck.:p

Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't the player cut the deck? Couldn't you cut the high cards to the top? The only way for the dealer to effectively cheat in this manner would be if he knew exactly where the player would cut, right?

A good mechanic can undo a player cut quite easily.
