True Count and remaining half-decks

I'm playing the BJII game/sim right now and it says:

RC: 3
1/2 decks remaining: 1.6
TC: 2

I thought that the TC = # of remaining WHOLE decks, and the program will get it right with something like:

RC: 8
1/2 decks remaining: 8
TC: 2

Any thoughts?

PS: Does whether or not you're playing single deck matter with TC conversion? I just figured the half way point always meant x2.

Usually it is done with whole decks, but some people use half-decks to make the math simpler. I'm not familiar with the BJII game so I don't know which version it uses.

That certainly seems wrong. If there is less than one deck remaining then the TC should be higher than the RC. It must be using half-decks and rounding the TC.

Okay, that makes me feel way better, having a someone who's been around the block reaffirm my thoughts because I was beginning to get worried. Come to think of it, I don't remember any guarantee that the BJII program used Hi-Lo, and sometimes the RC is "off" (to say a sim or program is "off" feels funny, but I feel right, also) by one or perhaps two (I'll check, but I know for a fact I've seen it off by one) so I am considering just counting cards manually, instead of allowing the program to do it.
