-Sheraton: average selection. Absolutely horrible food. Good video poker. Very gross snack bar.

-Bally's: not very good food, not very good selection. However, best crab rangoon I've ever had. Very good fried rice.

-Gold Strike: average. But, they had a free wine area, with about 4 different kinds of wine.

-Fitgerald's: Above average food. Average selection.

-Sam's Town: Excellent. Huge selection, 4 different "areas". Some food was gross, but there was plenty of good food to choose from.

-Horseshoe: probably the best buffet; great food, 5 different "areas" to choose from. The broccoli and cheese nuggets were good. Several types of rolls to choose from. Open 24 hours, and they have an excellent starbuck's shop if you can't quite scare up a buffet comp.

Hoping to get down there sometime this summer. Was Wondering what the conditions were looking like these days. Have any Idea?

As far as all that food goes....man I gotta lose a few pounds, after this long winter:laugh: Seriously!

Conditions were phenomenal for 2 deck. Playable at every casino I visited, got away with a good spread with no heat. Good rules; everywhere was double-after-split, double-on-any, and even some re-splitting aces allowed. All h17, though, even the shoes. Even found a very beatable video poker game...

Tunica Single Deck

moo321 said:
Yep, single deck was all $25 min. Didn't check on the rules.
Sheraton and Grand are 6:5, everywhere else is 3:2, No DAS, DA2, No surrender, H17. Most everywhere has $25 min. except for Fitz where there are some $10 mins.

All the double deck I saw was $10 minimums. Day, swing, and graveyard, never saw it go below $10.
Fitz and Sheraton use to have a $5 DD, but most everywhere else is $10 min. But I haven't been since January.

Im definitely going back as soon as possible. Tunica is a magical world; double deck blackjack everywhere, good video poker, good poker, good comps, free booze. What else could you want?

All you need to do is review CBJN. Fitz bites, to include the BJ and buffet. Even the dealer seemed to be evaluating me there. DD pen is down most places but shop around as varies by dealer.

Steakhouse and snack shop report

Steakhouse report:

-Sheraton: Some great deals (2 for 1), which apply with a comp. Quite possible for two to eat on a $40 comp if you just get entrees. Server was great. Average food for a steakhouse, creme brule was good.

-Gold Strike: Chicago Steak House was overrated. Very expensive, service was slow. Nice restaurant, but it took over two hours to eat. My steak was a little dry. More of a "presentation" than a "food" place.

The "Atrium" Cafe has been buck nasty both times we went. Everyone talks about how great it is, but it was like a bad diner. Go to the snack shop instead.

-Hollywood: First time we went, my steak was mediocre. Second time, we split the "chateaubriand" and it was obscenely good. One of the best steaks I've ever had. I believe it was $70 or so, but it's enough food for two (we got it comped, of course).

-Horseshoe: Best meal I've ever eaten. Get the ravioli appetizer, it's incredible. Steaks were delicious, great wine selection, great desserts. Excellent service.

-Bally's: "The Barn" (nice name) not technically a steak house, but they actually had above average steaks.

Snack Shop report:

-Gold Strike: 3 places to chose from, hamburger joint, pizza place, and coffee shop. All incredibly good. Get the chili dog at the hamburger place, and get the breakfast sandwich at the coffee shop. Wings were too hot for us white people at the hamburger place.

-Sheraton: Dogshit. Took forever to get food, and it sucked.

-Horseshoe: Went at 2 am when it was the only thing open, so our food took forever. It was ok.

-Sam's Town: Get the Chinese food. It was very, very good. Sweet and sour chicken and fried rice.

-Resorts: Solidly above average. "Bistro" style snack shop. Although, the buffet is a buck, so if you're being cheap you would go there.

Hey moo, just realized you were in the area(this past weekend it seems) and was wondering if you strolled through Harrahs at all..... the reason I ask is that I had an encounter with a couple of gentlemen- I care not to get involved in their business so I won't discuss it here, was just wondering if you may have witnessed the same thing that I did or if you may have taken part in it. Its no biggie just thought I'd ask after I saw your post on the food situation. PM me if need be
