"Two-Way" bets in Craps

I am a little confused as to what a "Two-Way bet means" because different casinos told me different things.

If I throw $10 and yell "Two-way hard 8", then I am betting $5 for me and $5 for the crew on a hard 8.

But if I throw $2 and yell "Two-way 5 hopping", am I betting $1 on the 4-1 and 2-3 or $1 for me and $1 for the crew?

I've always been familiar with the former, but then again I don't hop :grin:

When observing others hop a number like the 5, I usually see the call "Hop the 5 for a buck each." But to each his own.
