Hey I am trying out vegas for the first time. I will be staying at excalibur and don't have a huge bankroll.... soo if you can point me in the direction for the 3 to 5 dollar 2/6 deck games. I'm a fairly new counter but have put a ton of time in reading, practicing and just studying. I use the hi-lo count and I'm really looking forward to some double deck action. Also id like to meet some counters as well that are in the area. Thanks

The Tropicana across the street should have better games than the Excalibur ($5 H17 6d RSA NS) at $5 limits.

If you want to play double decks with a low minimum bet, try the El Cortez downtown.

The majority of decent 6 deck blackjack games on the strip are going to be MGM shops and they are going to be at the slow times during the week at 10 dollar min.

You might try the low end MGM shops for 5 dollars like Monte Carlo or Mirage, but not as guaranteed to have the game.

There are also even lower end properties like Hooters and Tropicana.

CBJN lists most of Excalibur low limit games with CSMs vs. Trop which is listed as having more tables w/o CSMs than w/ CSM

Wild Wild West, about 1/3rd of a mile west of the strip has $2 games, but they are CSM.They have a nice $5 DD game, but its not open all the time. I'm not aware of any other games you can walk to from Excaliber that will be less than $5, but conditions change all the time.

I was at the Trop last fall and if I remember correctly every BJ table except one was CSM. NYNY usually had one $5 table in the morning, would go up to $10 about 10 a.m. but would grandfather you in. (this was on a weekday)

For $5 dd, you'll need to go to a locals joint or downtown.

I can't remember the name but the store that has "The Pasta Pirate" has $3 tables and OK rules. It's just down and across the street from Harrah's on The Strip.

MGM often has $5 6D H17 DAS RSA LS tables during off-times. NYNY is the same story, but the tables rarely go below $10. Several off-strip locals joints have much better games for $3-$5 minimum, but you'll need a car.

I found this to be untrue when I was there.

Palace Station has a good DD game. It's not on the strip but they have a free shuttle that runs to Fashion Show Mall and back every 1.5 to 2 hrs. Never had to prove I was staying there to use it.

Thanks for all the great information guys. I am not too familar with the double deck but is it similar to sd? With all the cards dealt face down or a shoe game like the 6/8 deck? I have been pretty frustrated lately because hilton seems to have the only 6 deck/10 table around. And that's with shitty penetration. I've still won each time I played there but I don't want to over stay my welcome if you know what I mean ha. I will keep you all posted on my vegas trip but it won't be all playing since I'm getting married there as well

DD can be hand held or dealt from a shoe. All hand held that I have seen is face down. Most shoes are also face down, but some places deal face up, which is a great advantage as you can see all the cards for playing decisions.

I don't know of any shoe game in Vegas, 2 deck or 6 deck that is dealt face down.

The California is in downtown LV, several miles from Harrahs. Possibly you are referring to Casino Royale, which is next to Harrahs.There are no small casinos across the street from Harrahs, except possibly for Treasure Island.
