The California is in downtown LV, several miles from Harrahs. Possibly you are referring to Casino Royale, which is next to Harrahs. There are no small casinos across the street from Harrahs, except possibly for Treasure Island.
California Club has AWFUL rules, and Casino Royale is clearly the very worst place, if not just on the strip, then anywhere on the planet.
Anyone who thinks that the California Club has good rules should bar themselves until they gain a working understanding of what constitutes a good game
Casino Royale has two different games to choose between:
a C.S.M. "Switch" game and a SD game that has an e.v. of -1.24%

You've got to learn to think outside the box. CR is a regular cash cow for me.
Its got an ongoing promo thats designed to be exploited. Even without it, I'll take its games over O'Sheas anytime.
Well soo far the trip hasn't been too bad. Played at excalibur which had a nice face up 10 dollar single deck. Circus circus I thought had the best 6 deck games soo far having 3 and 5 dollar tables. Also played at riviera playing another single deck. Soo far I'm up 12 units. They had the 3 day bus pass that takes you everywhere for 21 dollars too soo that saved a ton on cab fare. I was super impressed with all the 10 dollar 6 deck games. Too bad everything is h17. I wasn't impressed with the rooms at excalibur though.Well I got 2 days left to play and ill get more details on the trip. Ill be going downtown to check out their games tonight!

If you are making the rounds, playing the low limit games anyway, jerseycounter, I hope you are taking advantage of the various winchip promotions. Ask for them when you sign up for players card. These are promotional chips that you play like regular chips except you can't cash them out. You have to play them until you lose. But they help stretch a small bankroll and offset some of those nasty .57 -.64 house advantage at low limit games. On the strip and downtown areas, Circus Circus has $45 for $30, hard rock, Luxor, mand Bay $30 for $20, trop, excal, four queens all have $15 for $10. There are more in some of the outlying areas.
Kewljason, thanks for the tip. I just didn't wanna chance getting rated and then giving them my face/name for potential card counters...I guess I don't have to worry too much playing red chips. It would definitely help when pressing bets at high counts because of my small bankroll.
Yeah I know... I just never saw a face up single deck before. I'm staying away from them for now on. Well last night I got to play at encore downtown. Played their 3 dollar/6 deck game. I was playing mostly 5 dollar hands except for the one shoe were it went to a negative count. Had a crazy shoe go to a plus 26 at one time, tc of 6. I never saw it that good before since I started counting about 6 months ago. Found a 5 dollar double deck game as well. Playing at encore I was up 40 units!
Yeah the 26 running count was with 3 decks remaining. It was pretty crazy. I haven't advanced to half deck tc conversions yet. Well besides that my first vegas trip was a success being up 105 units. In dollars it comes out to a little over 400. I just can't wait to build a bankroll to play green chips. My favorite game was the 5 dollar/2 deck at the el cortez. It just seemed too easy compared to the games I'm used to. It was 3:2/das as well. I was only spreading 1 to 5 on that and I was heads up. Well its back to the shitty games in ac unless I can get a later flight out....
