I saw a few threads in the archives but no other mention anywhere. Don't they have any rivers or indians?
Not in Ohio! They are not that expiditious there! Logic? Nope! The constitutional amendment specifically states which parcel of ground the casinos can be built on.Most Interesting Man said:Is that when the law takes effect or how long it takes them to build the first ones? If the latter, they could just rent out space at a strip mall and build a mini casino in a few months.
They should just get a pair of dice and hang out in the alley shooting craps. Most Interesting Man said:Is that when the law takes effect or how long it takes them to build the first ones? If the latter, they could just rent out space at a strip mall and build a mini casino in a few months.
I thought the old Higbees was the permenant site?blackchipjim said:The opening of the temp. casino is in an old department store and is slated for opening earlier than the one on the river. The set back was due to the Gov. arguing that the casino's weren't going to pay enough taxes. I think the spring of 2012 and bam! they will be ready to roll.
The best way to avoid mechanics in Ohio poker clubs is not to play in Ohio poker clubs... or West Virginia, or Kentucky, or Virginia, or really I can't think of any way to avoid mechanics except by playing in mainstream casinos. At least there, outright cheating is generally kept to a bare minimum. Of course, you'd be the first one I ever told that who actually believed it. It's what keeps mechanics in business. Nobody's cheating in MY game!moo321 said:Nothing in Ohio. There are some "poker clubs" that may or may not be illegal that have some juicy games. These are of questionable legality and you need to watch out for mechanics. Other than that, it's all charity gaming.
And of course if you are not sure a game is legal, unless you are already a criminal do not play it. Playing poker with criminals when you're not, is like playing in a poker game where everyone speaks Chinese except you.aslan said:The best way to avoid mechanics in Ohio poker clubs is not to play in Ohio poker clubs... or West Virginia, or Kentucky, or Virginia, or really I can't think of any way to avoid mechanics except by playing in mainstream casinos.
