Where to fly into in PA ?

Looking to play some 6D pref with LS and S17. I have CBJN but was wondering if I can get some incite as to where to fly in to? What casinos are within cab/walk/drive distance? I am completely unfamiliar with the area.

Where to fly into PA

I would recomment LVIA in Allentown, PA. The Sands in Bethlehem PA is a 15 minute cab ride from the airport. Casino hotel on site plus numerous great motels convenient to the airport. Favorable PA bj rules. Most times minimum play is $ 15. Also consider Mount Airy and Parx, both are convenient by rental car.

The best one hasn't been built yet. Most PA casinos don't come with lodging except the last one. And the surrounding Ohiopyle State Park is just astonishing.

Meanwhile, you can fly to Philadelphia or Pittsburgh. And you need a rental car to get around.

Newsflash from April 2011:

Regional gaming operator Isle of Capri Casinos was awarded Pennsylvania's final gaming license Thursday by the state's gaming regulators.

The St. Louis-based company will build the Lady Luck Nemacolin at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Fayette County. The $50 million project is expected to include 600 slot machines, 28 table games, a casual dining restaurant and a lounge.

Isle of Capri expects to complete the project within nine months.
 
If you fly into PHL, Harrahs Chester is about a 15 minute drive, then Sugarhouse another 20 minutes, then Parrx, another 30 minutes. Continue north another 90-120 minutes or so for Sands and Mohegan Sun.

If you fly to Pittsburgh, the Rivers is in downtown Pittsburgh, about 20 minutes from the airport, then there is the Meadows in Washington, PA, about 25 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh. Drive 60 minutes to Mountaineer Casino in West Virginia. And 65 minutes to Wheeling Island Casino in West Virgina. Actually it will take shorter drive if you start from the airport instead of the downtown. It takes 40 minutes driving from the Meadows to Wheeling Island Casino. So you probably want to book your hotel in Washington, PA because the Meadow is in the middle point of the Rivers and Wheeling Island.

Note that Wheeling Island now hits soft 17 so the gaming condition is the worst of the area.
 
The OP is looking for 6D games. Last time I was at Rivers they only had 8D. The following have 6D for certain.

Philly Area:
Parx
Harrahs Chester
Sugar House

PA stores that DO NOT have 6D games (as of 3 months ago anyway): Rivers (Pgh), Presque Isle (Erie), Hollywood (Harrisburg).

Other PA stores: Not sure if they have 6D or not: Sands (Bethlehem), Mt. Airy & Mohegan Sun @ Mt. Pocono (Wilkes-Barre area), Meadows (Washington, PA).

Sands: ASMs, 8D $15-$25, 6D $50+. Crowded even on a weekday
Mt. Airy: 6D/8D, ASMs. Craptastic pen
Mo Sun: 6D hand shuffled and CSMs. Relatively few BJ tables compared to above

I was there recently. 6 deck LS 1 to 2 cut off. It started at 1 but after a break the dealer cut much thicker. I think they may have told the dealer to cut thick. I had a nice trip.;)
