Why are rooms at Ceasars so expensive?

Isn't Caesars one of the older hotels? I always wanted to stay there but the rooms are like $150. I know I can find cheaper room rates on the strip.

I am thinking of staying at PH this time. Has anyone stayed there? How are the rooms?

Previously I have stayed at Luxor a few times and Treasure Island.

Thanks

Because it's Caesar's.

Some rooms are cheaper, depending on which tower you select. The older towers are less, but IMO they're all really expensive. I've only stayed there because my husband goes to a conference there and the company pays for the room.

I got an awesome concierge-level room at Planet Hollywood through Priceline. If you specify 4 and 5 star on the strip (north or south), and name your price, you can get a really good deal.

I stayed at PH a few months ago, for the first time. It was one of the top floors for Diamond members. It was nicer than some of the Caesar's rooms I've stayed in. IIRC, Augustus tower in Caesars the nicest I've stayed in there.

I may never see the inside of a hotel room at ceasars in my life time, so i couldnt say. But i did recently stay at...NYNY, mandalay bay, mgm, and mainstreet staion, i gotta say that mandalay bay got #1 for appeal. And in all honesty, I favored mainstreet station over NYNY, which is likely to be affordable but its downtown :/

Thanks for the replies.

I am looking forward to going to Vegas again. I'm still debating where to stay.

It is nice to get input from others. Mandalay does look really nice, I stayed at Luxor but never went into Mandalay last time. May have to just check it out.

We get spoiled between our comps and the room rates in Vegas. Try finding a hotel room in Manhattan for $200 a night, or SouthBeach. I recently went to a wedding in Maryland and the Holiday Inn was $125 a night thru Expedia.

The "standard rate" for a "moderate room" (lower floor with obstructed views) at Four Seasons in NY is $695 + taxes and service charges.:) The Penthouse is $35,100/night.

Manhattan and South Beach are real places with productive citizens - not a sh*thole whose sole purpose to exist is to fleece the tourists.

I would love to stay at Bellagio or Venetian but I can't afford that and I don't plan on spending much time in the hotel.

I heard room in NYC are crazy expensive. Glad i don't have any big desire to go there. Visited once had a great time. Saw all the usual sight seeing stuff.

There are cheap hotel rooms in NYC, and you'd be scared to death. You'll smell filth from the time you walk in the front door to the time you leave.

If you're going to LV and can't get comped on the Strip, just stay in any casino hotel Downtown. Everything is adequate and affordable.

I have never been to South Beach. Or anywhere in the south. Closest was DC/Maryland when I was a kid.

Isn't one of the downtown hotels under renovations?
Last time I was there I never felt unsafe. I saw plenty of police patrolling, but I wouldn't walk off the main streets down there. :)

My mom is paranoid she told me "don't stay downtown it isn't safe"

I am not a big fan of upper end rooms or suites. Especially for someone paying for it. Most people (with the exception of honeymooners) spend very little time in that room. ;) I had to stay in a hotel room 4 nights over the New Years weekend as I rented out my condo for those nights..., and being New Years weekend found pickings kind of slim. The EE comped me at Flamingo, which most consider pretty run down, but the room was fine. clean, nice bed, working shower and TV and a great view of the strip to boot. Of course this was a special circumstance for me, but I don't see where most folks visiting Vegas would need anything more.

Off the main streets, me neither. There's nothing there, for one. And the area of LV north of Downtown is as dangerous as any place in the US.

Still, stuff happens on the Strip too. Drunken rowdies, incidents where girls have gotten their shirts/skirts pulled up, brawls, typical assholia of the young and stupid. Downtown I observe as having more of a mature, middle-class crowd and despite having a violent run-in with a mental subject up there years ago, I'd rate the chances of having an incident as slightly less than on the Strip. And certainly more food and lodging value for the money. But I don't go there much because they don't have the right kind of games for me.

I've stayed there once and I will never stay at Caesars again. It is so big and confusing and the rooms aren't even that much nicer than other properties.

Check out Hooters

Hooters casino
$30 with taxes weekdays online
decent room
fairly well located
think weekend under $100

Why are the rooms expensive at Caesars?
They are still a popular name brand
Though perhaps not warranted
and the forumn shops are popular
