Will the El Cortez remember me?

I got backed off at the El Cortez multiple times during my visit in September. I plan to visit Vegas again in December. Will they remember someone they backed off months ago? I was only spreading 5-25 or 5-2x25, but I got backed off from craps while having a hot roll.

You shouldn't have a problem. Did they back you off because of you BJ play or your "controled dice throwing"? You may want to work on your happy gambler act. Last time I was there I had no problem spreading 10 to 2X75, and kept my session short. When I tipped ,I asked the dealer if she wanted it in front or on the side bet they have, then throw a white out. 15- 20 min BJ, mix it up with some of their 9/6 JOB, etc. Keep moving, come to the table with a beer, Try to play at a table where someone is betting bigger than you. I wouldn't hang out there more than an hour per shift. Also at the stakes you were playing, you might as well play rated. I know that they do alot of backing off there, but I haven't heard of any nightmare trespass stories. I may be wrong, it's been about a year since I've been out there, maybe others can fill you in on more recent conditions and defenses. I was playing their DD.

If they read this thread (and the other one describing the barring) then they will. Otherwise you will be fine as long as you keep it clean. As Vytas said, try to blend in and don't play for too long. Many times the pit will have a slow reaction time for various reasons. I once got barred after 72 minutes of by-the-book counting, then returned about 2 hours later on the next shift and played for another hour or so. A friend of mine was playing elsewhere in the casino both times and never felt any heat during either session. The EC can be very quick to pick you off if you let them, but your pervious barring should give you enough info to know how to keep safe for a while.

They will not.
Be sure to wear a hat, if you were not the previous time, or vice-versa. zg

Don't forget to grow out your beard too.....
On the morning shift, there are usually a couple of mexican crossdressers doing just that. I imagine they are "working gurls" but they seem to lounge around the nickel VP across from the cashier.

I just never got all that much heat. But I'm a low roller who rarely bets over 200, with a minimal spread. They shuffle too often on the SD games for too much damage to be done...seems they pay more attention to the DD games.

Nowadays, I stay free and eat free playing rated and the PCs just chat me up a little now and then. I usually win decent amounts over a several day stay. Maybe I've just been lucky so far...I do everything I can to act like the usual morons (I even tip well). My last visit paid for a new iPod touch.

Lots of the Cortez players play that stupid Royal Match sidebet and I have gotten comments from staff asking why I don't. Where I have gotten a hard time from the pit was at the Four Queens.

I will ask them next time I go there.

Plenty of damage can be done at SD. Much more so than DD. keep me away from it.

Royal match is not stupid at all. it's a +ev side bet. Google around for the info.

Hopefully they won't remember how I look like. I won't play rated this time and I won't play craps. But I'm sure a person who counts cards in blackjack and then coincidentally has a hot roll in craps would stick out. Even though I wasn't controlling the dice. The fact that the next shooter immediately rolled a seven might have been worse for their perception of me.

shave your head, and dress like a woman. that should do it.
ZGI page-21 >>
One of my protégés, with a youngish nerdy counter appearance, went all out one day to dress like
a street bum - a drugged-out speed-freak street bum, at my direction! His BR consisted of
individually crumbled 100s and 50s stuck into different pockets, and he practiced wild-eyed
movements in the mirror the night before. He also rehearsed bizarre low-toned self talk like "damn
damn I knew they would do this to me!" - eyes rolling upward when losing a big bet. And "Ya ya
this is it - payback time, yaaa" - eyes wide with demonic smile when winning a small bet. He
sounded like a Beavis or Butthead character.

He spread wildly from $10-150 with no heat on day shift and won $700 in 2.5 hours, proclaiming
the 'El Commode' to be a "candy store" he said that the pit-critters wouldn't go near him - I warned
him not to get rolled on the street when he left - his big problem upon leaving was that no cabs
would stop for his dangerous looking character.

He says that he is going to add another persona to his repertoire - a sluttishly flirtatious
transvestite, winking at the pit bosses and cooing "come talk to me baby!"

I've tried that. It doesn't work. Too many pit bosses are into that and will take you up on it. Then you are forced to actually 'date' them or blow your cover. Just kidding of course, but I have played the really feminine gay guy and have had both dealers and pit, if not actually flirting with me, at least being very friendly.

Did I run into you downtown last year?

mix it up with some of their 9/6 JOB

I have not seen full-pay 9/6 Jacks or Better video poker at the El Cortez. The only property downtown that has it that I know of is Main Street Station.
