Your Uncle wasn't Bill S., was he?

No - Al W. from Jax.

I had another relative who spent a lot of time in Vegas and tried to open a nice, Vegas-style club in Jax. He got Hackett there along with some other Vegas regs, but Jax. was a cow town back then and the concept never flew. He was buddies with Bob Crane and crew - not exactly a resounding character reference, but when you're a kid, celebs of any kind seem cool (until they're accused of murder, of course).

They're all dead now, so I'm not outing anyone.

Yup, friend of mine was running junkets to Vegas about the same time. He had already "run into" those who then ran Vegas when he was "caught" steering high roller poker players to private games outside the casinos. But then he struck this deal, to run junkets from the east coast to LV, a profitable endeavor.

You mentioned Hackett. My wife told me he was one of the crew who frequented her uncle's house back in the day. He's another story.

I have my expansive gambler's library to attend to.
I am always surprised to find a worthwhile addition.
This is NOT one of them.
