Ein nahezu makelloses Krypto-Casino mit Turnieren, abgesehen von einigen Lücken bei der Lokalisierung.
Yggdrasil is the maker of the Vikings slots and Valley of the Gods, a studio known for inventive reel mechanics. It is the game maker, not the casino you deposit at, it holds its own UK licence, and it makes a handful of software blackjack tables. Here are the best Yggdrasil casinos, what it makes, and where blackjack fits in.
Wherever you find a Yggdrasil game, it is the same game. The studio writes the maths and the mechanics; the casino just hosts it. So the thing to compare between two Yggdrasil casinos is not the games, which are identical, but everything the casino controls: how fast a withdrawal clears, the stakes on offer, the banking options, and whether the games pull their weight against wagering. This list ranks the sites that carry Yggdrasil on exactly those terms.
Every casino here carries Yggdrasil's games, and these are the ones we rate highest on the things that actually change from one site to the next.

Yggdrasil builds and licenses the games; it is not the casino you deposit at. It holds its own UK Gambling Commission software licence, in its own name through its Swedish operating company, rather than reaching British players under an owner’s licence. That licence covers how the games are built and tested: independent labs certify the random number generator, so the casino cannot influence the result, and each game’s return is fixed in its own paytable, the same at every casino that offers it. Your deposits and withdrawals are governed by the casino’s licence, not Yggdrasil’s, so choose the casino carefully; the list above only shows casinos we have reviewed.
The licence below is Yggdrasil’s own, held through its Swedish operating entity. It is on the public register for you to check.

| UK Gambling Commission | Yggdrasil Gaming Sweden AB (50632) | Gambling Software (Remote) | 24 Mai 2018 | Aktiv |
There is one more point worth adding, in fairness. Yggdrasil has no UK enforcement record, but in 2024 Sweden’s gambling regulator fined it 300,000 kronor, about 30,000 euros, for supplying its software to an operator that was not licensed there. Yggdrasil put it down to a reseller breaking its contract and said it fixed the issue. It is a business-to-business supply-chain matter in another country, not a question about whether the games are fair or about the safety of a UK deposit, but hiding it would be less than honest.
Yggdrasil made its name on slots that do something the others do not. The Norse-themed Vikings games, Vikings Go Berzerk and its stablemates, and Valley of the Gods with its expanding grid are the titles people know it for, but among developers it is known for the mechanics underneath: Gigablox, with its oversized symbols, and a run of other reel gimmicks it now licenses to smaller studios through a partner programme. It builds on its own iSENSE framework, and it does not run a live casino, so its tables are software rather than streamed.
Yggdrasil does make blackjack, which sets it slightly apart from the pure slots houses, but keep the scale in mind: three tables, all software, none live. They run on a platform Yggdrasil calls REDUX, which pairs a computer-dealt game with an animated 3D dealer to give it the feel of a live table without the stream. The first was Sonya Blackjack in 2018, Yggdrasil’s very first table game, followed by Lucky Blackjack and the novelty John Carew Blackjack, fronted by the former footballer. If you want the detail on one of them, we have a full write-up of Sonya Blackjack. As with any software blackjack, the number that matters is on the paytable: a 3 to 2 payout, and side bets left alone.
Yggdrasil was started in 2013 by Fredrik Elmqvist, who had been a senior executive at NetEnt before he pitched the idea at a trade show, though the shorthand that calls him a former NetEnt chief executive overstates the role. The studio is based in Malta with Swedish roots. It has never been an independent company for long: the Swedish Cherry group took majority control the year it was founded, and when the private equity firm Bridgepoint bought Cherry and took it private in 2018 and 2019, Yggdrasil passed into Bridgepoint’s hands along with it, where it remains. The stretch since has been bumpy, with three chief executives between 2022 and 2023 and a write-down at the parent, but the studio has kept shipping games throughout. For a blackjack player, the useful fact is the one already covered: this is a slots studio that also happens to make a few software blackjack tables.
Founded by Fredrik Elmqvist; the Swedish Cherry group becomes its majority owner the same year.
Launches Sonya Blackjack, its first table game, on the REDUX platform.
A Bridgepoint-led buyout takes parent Cherry private, so Yggdrasil comes under Bridgepoint’s ownership through Cherry.
Opens up its game mechanics to third-party studios through its YG Masters partner programme and GATI toolkit.
No. Yggdrasil is a game studio that builds slots and a few software table games; the casino you deposit at is a separate company that licenses them. If a payout goes wrong, it is that casino's licence that matters, not Yggdrasil's.
A little. Yggdrasil runs no live dealer casino, so there is no live Yggdrasil blackjack. It does make three software blackjack tables dealt by animated 3D dealers: Sonya Blackjack, its first ever table game from 2018, plus Lucky Blackjack and John Carew Blackjack. We have a full write-up of Sonya Blackjack if you want the detail.
The private equity group Bridgepoint, through the Swedish Cherry group. Cherry backed Yggdrasil from 2013 and took majority control that year; Bridgepoint took Cherry private in 2018 to 2019, and Yggdrasil has sat under that ownership since. The claim that Bridgepoint bought Yggdrasil in 2021 is a common error.
Yes, in its own right. Yggdrasil Gaming Sweden AB holds a UK Gambling Commission gambling software licence (account 50632), active since May 2018, and the group holds two further remote casino B2B licences. There is no UK enforcement action on any of its accounts.
Slots with a mechanical twist. Its Norse-themed Vikings series (Vikings Go Berzerk and its siblings) and Valley of the Gods are the headline titles, and it is known in the trade for reel mechanics like Gigablox that other studios now license through its YG Masters programme.
