How Lucky 7 works

Lucky 7 is a ball draw, not a casino table: one machine, 42 numbered balls, seven winners and a betting window of about three minutes before each draw.

1 42 balls

Choose your bets

Pick any outcomes for the next draw: a number, a total, a color count or odd or even. The window stays open about three minutes.

2 7 drawn

The machine draws seven

Seven balls drop into the tube one at a time. Only the first seven count, and a draw with fewer than seven is void with stakes returned.

3 4 min

Bets settle, the next draw opens

Winning bets pay the odds shown when you placed them, stake included. Betting on the next draw opens straight away.

Seven balls from 42

The machine holds 42 balls numbered 1 to 42, half yellow and half black. Each draw drops seven of them into a tube, and the order they arrive in counts for a few bets: first ball, second ball and last ball. A presenter runs the draw on a live stream, and the result is read from the video.

Every draw starts from the full set of 42, so earlier results tell you nothing about the next one. A number that has not come up for twenty draws still has the same 1 in 6 chance as every other number.

Reading the odds

Lucky 7 shows decimal odds: what comes back for each 1 you stake, stake included. A $10 bet on your number at 5.70 returns $57 if that number is drawn, a $47 profit. The odds are fixed for the draw you bet on.

Where the value is, and where it is not

Your number being drawn has a 1 in 6 chance (7 of 42) and pays 5.70, a 95.00% return. The total line at 150.5 sits exactly in the middle of the draw, so over and under each win half the time at 1.90, also 95.00%. Three or fewer yellow balls against four or more works the same way.

The bigger prices are where the cost hides. Two chosen numbers both drawn pay 32.00 but land only 2.44% of the time, a 78.05% return. Three numbers at 225.00 return 68.60%, and four numbers at 2,000.00 return 62.54%. Exact color counts cost more than ranges too: exactly three yellow balls pays 3.00 and returns 88.52%.

Yellow and black are not quite equal

The yellow balls add up to 451 and the black balls to 452, so the two color total bets at 73.5 are priced the same but do not win equally often. Over 73.5 on black returns 95.81% and under returns 94.19%. The gap is small, and every bet still keeps a house edge.

The math behind Lucky 7

Every chance on this page is exact. Seven balls come out of 42 with no ball returned, so the chance of each bet is a count of the ways it can happen. Multiply that chance by the odds and you have its return.

Why the simple bets sit at 95%

Your number is one of 42 and seven are drawn, a chance of 7 in 42 or 1 in 6. Fair odds would be 6.00. The game pays 5.70, and 1/6 of 5.70 is 95.00%. The middle lines work the same way at 1.90 on an even chance.

Why the picks fall away

Each extra chosen number has to land too, and the price does not rise as fast as the chance falls. Two numbers land 2.44% of the time; fair odds would be 41.00, but the game pays 32.00.

The rules at your casino may show different figures; its in game help is the version that applies to you.

Is there a Lucky 7 strategy?

No strategy changes the draw, but your choice of bet changes the cost: the simple bets return about 95%, and the long shots return as little as 62.54%.

The multi number picks are priced lower

One number pays 5.70 on a 1 in 6 chance. Two numbers pay 32.00 (78.05% return), three pay 225.00 (68.60%) and four pay 2,000.00 (62.54%). The bigger the prize, the more of each stake the game keeps.

Exact counts cost more than ranges

Exactly three or exactly four yellow balls each pay 3.00 and return 88.52%. Three or fewer against four or more covers the same middle of the draw at 1.90 and returns 95.00%.
