    Befriended by a stranger

While in the Las Vegas Club many years ago, a guy next to mse struck up a conversation. After awhile he asked if I ever bet on sports. I told him very seldom. He leaned over to me and said to play the favorites in a six team parlay in the NCAA and NIT basketball tournamants that were going...

    question for men

One time a player drew an 11. He asked the players at the table if he should double down. Of course, we all said, it's a no brainer. He said he asked because he didn't want to screw up the cards. I told him, "Play your hand the way you want to. This is not a team game." When a player...

    Just a thought

I also bet horses. My brother once asked me, "Say you lose $200 at the track. What did you get for that money?" My brother likes to fish and owned a cabin 100 miles away. I asked him, "When you add up the costs of your cabin mortgage payment, gas, license, tackle, bait, boat...

    Need an advise about progression

In a back issue of Gambling Times, an article called "The Morgan Progression" by Dan(?) Morgan proposed a method based on positive progression and card counting. I haven't read the article in years, but what he stated was to the pit it looks fishy to win many hands in a row without raising...

    Royal Flush

Jacks or Better. And I have never hit a Royal Flush---even while practicing on my computer. I have a suspicion that Royal Flushes are like abominable snowmen. Some claim to have seen one, (even caught one), but there is no proof that they exist. But I continue the search. If they...

    The second to last farewell

[Remember, your BR is "NOT" how much liquid cash you can get your hands on, it is how much you are willing to risk (lose) That's the best description of bank roll I've read.

    Favorite Casino?

Canterbury Park in Minnesota. No smoking throughout the entire building. Dealers keep their own tokes. Unfortunately a couple years ago they went to H17, which is common in most Minnesota casinos. At least they got rid of the antes.

The dumbest thing you have ever seen at the table

A fellow at Grand Casino Hinckley, MN -- Ace 6, stood. Later Ace 5 stood,. Later Ace 3, after staring at it awhile, stood.

    Empty tables generate unwanted heat

You don't have to bet large to play solo or with only a few players. When you sit down at an empty table, ask to have it made non smoking. That'll keep many from joining you. Some will want to sit down, see the non smoking sgn, and keep walking. I do 90% of my play at non smoking tables...

I got banned from Fallsview Casino Resort

Banned, So if your friend stops by your home, goes to to your refrigerator and eats most of your food, and you ask him to leave and not come back, do you believe he has a right to sue you because you will not allow him to come back and eat most of your food again?

    $20 Trick

I've never done the $20 trick. I don't care if my room faces a parking ramp or wall. I'm only in my room 7 hours a day--unless I lose my ass. Unless I was with one of those women who would think that a room like that was a dump and that I was the ass for not asking for something better.

    blackjack info message boards

I read/contribute to Vegas, blackjack and horse race handicapping forums. Whenever I'm tempted to write that someone's opinion full of crap or to write a smart aleck remark, I stop typing and delete the message. I will correct something--politely--if I know an error or misinformation has...

    6:5 display not required anymore?

Whether they have a 6/5 sign or not, why not just screw with 'em. Buy in for $500 or more. Ask what do blackjacks pay. Then cash out. Go to a 3/2 table. Repeat as needed at different casinos. They'll drop a lot of cash and their large denomination cheques will empty.

Do Dealers tell their Supervisors everything ?

Any of you speak Spanish or another foreign language? I don't. I've had floormen speak with dealers in Spanish in Vagas. They were laughing, probably talking about their kids or what they they had for dinner. If that, or anything for that matter, makes me feel suspicious, I'm out of...
