Here is my question to Stanford Wong.

Stanford, you made your money selling books and systems. Do you have any plans in the near future to tell people the truth, that blackjack is a losing game for the player? Or will you continue to perpetuate the asinine myth that people can beat the house at blackjack in the long run?

This whole thing is sort of like everyone in the land of Oz lining up to hear what the wizard has to say. Waiting...waiting...still waiting....

I hope to hear something of the official words of wisdom prior to my next trip to the casino Monday. That is two days away. Otherwise I will have no choice but to use Cipher's amazing system and hope for the best.
 
I was lucky

I had the good fortune of meeting Wong at Las Vegas Hilton (guessing 6 or seven years ago) when their million dollar BJ tournaments were exactly that.
Talked with him for 10-15 minutes. It made my trip worthwhile even though I didn't get far in tourney. He didn't either which, of course illustrates that even the best have to get some cards to work with.

Name

Where did you get the name Stanford Wong? What gave you the idea to use that name as apposed to any other names?Obviously it is your pen name, but do you ever use your real name when writing or playing?
 
I think he went to school at Stanford. Don't know where "Wong" came from. We didn't talk about that.

When I was new to blackjack... I knew *who* you were, but until I saw you on WSBJ I didn't realize that you weren't ASIAN.

So, I want to know why you selected the name "Stanford Wong" as your playing alias.
 
General rule of thumb in the BJ world among well-known people. If you use an Asian name, you probably aren't. If you are Asian, you likely use an Occidental name. There are many examples.

Stanford's real name has been public knowledge since he was paid by TropWorld Casino to testify in court against a card counter. You don't get to use an alias under oath.
