Well I'm sure high rollers don't need players card do they? Whats the cut off between gambler who bets a lot and a High Roller who the casino doesn't care if they have a card or not as long as they play at their casino?

You might get away with it if you have a large chip stockpile, but generally to be a high roller you'll need to be able to make large cash buy-ins or have a credit line, neither of which you can do without a players card and all of your info, drivers license scanned, and SSN on file. No major casino is going to give a comp without an associated players account...that is how they maintain a paper trail today to account for such things.

But what if you play on a team and are the BP? Then it makes sense to try for comps right? Seems pretty +EV and you wouldn't be quickly tossed because they don't see you counting at the same table hour after hour

I know thats what the MIT guys did but then again that was back in the day

They still track your wins and losses and casinos know about the BP ploy.

The demand for a player's card is proportional top the level of your play.
The more that you bet, the more important the issue becomes to them.

This is one of the problems with BP play. A team manager wants to avoid id as much as possible, but the BP wants the comps. It happens a lot more than you think!
