Can anyone please help me figure out how to get a player's card under another name/identity? Is it possible to get comps or markers under another name? I'd also like to be able to stay at the casino under the other name.

To stay at any casino under any name simply rent your
room for cash and leave a small cash deposit for "incidentals"
 
All casino-hotels that I am familiar with except cash.

It is fairly commonplace for gamblers, trying to keep their gambling from their spouses and their ex-wives.

I generally snicker some silliness about keeping my gambling exploits free of a "paper trail"

Aside from what Flash advised you, which is 100% true, you already know the answer. You may use the Forum search tool to read discussions ad nauseam. When it comes to using a false driver's license, clearly a criminal offense, to obtain a player's card under an assumed name, would you yourself advise others to do so? So, would you respect the judgment of others who advise you doing so?

I have heard some players describe using a friend's player's card at the table; at worst, that seems like a "casino offense," but difficult for the casino to detect or to enforce with "casino penalties" if you never give them your real name. (Or if you don't care, "Oh, I must have picked up my friend's card in the room.") But when you go to spend the comps of friends, your friends will have to do it in any casino I frequent, because they require your ID upon making purchases. Easier still is just not using a player's card where you don't want to risk being turned away and losing any comps earned, say, playing VP; or using your card but moderating your play, so that you don't risk being turned away, if their comps are that important to you.

PS--A friend asked me to use his card once because he needed some extra points to get his "black" card. I did so, but when the PC asked me if I was "Jerry" I felt squeamish acknowledging falsely that I was. I realized that I had put his and possibly my own comps and casino standing in jeopardy. As it turned out, all went well. Had the PC recognized me from previous sessions, it may have turned out differently.

You might also remark, "I don't think you'd want my credit!" The same snicker applies.
 
Thanks for the info about paying cash at casinos. I didn't know I could just do that. But then I'd be paying full price or so for the rooms, right? I wouldn't be able to book these rooms online anymore, such as through a travel website.

I usually try to not play with a comps card. But I feel like I'm missing out on the comps.
 
I live in Mississippi. I went into a lawyer's office in Biloxi a few years back, handed him $175 cash, and told him what name I wanted. He walked across the street, knocked on the door of the judge's chambers, and came back 1/2 hour later with my legal name change order, signed by the judge. I then went to the DMV & got a driver's license. My credit card company was happy to send me a card in my new name.

I understand that in most other states it's not quite this easy, but it's an idea that you might want to look into.

I believe that means that you can no longer use your old name legally. :confused:
 
The attorney explained to me that when you change your name, you're not REALLY changing your name; you're ADDING a 2nd name. My passport is in one name, my DL says another. Upon returning from a foreign country a couple of years ago, a U.S Customs officer found both I.D.'s on me. Needless to say, I was sh***ing bricks while he went to check it out with his superior. Luckily, he came back & said yep; my attorney WAS correct and I had broken no laws.

You can use any name you want, any time you want, as long as you don't use it for a fraudulent purpose. One example of an illegal use of a name change would be using it to commit bigamy.

How a casino would interpret "fraudulent" is different than the way a normal person would. If you found a whale's players card and changed your name to his to cash out his comps, we'd all agree that was fraud and theft but disguising your name to be allowed to play the game honestly, that's something they would say is fraud and we would say isn't.

True, but the line becomes more blurred when you earn and use room offers and comps under a fake name. They could claim since they told you not to play, you couldn't earn the comps.

...if they could link your two identities. Can you help it if you have a look alike? VA no longer puts your SSN on your driver's license, but isn't it coincidental that you and your look alike were born on the same day in the same year. :laugh:

This works best if you have a somewhat complicated name. Go to the player's club booth, and explain that your name is spelled wrong, or in the wrong order, on your player's club card and driver's license, and ask to have the spelling corrected on your card. Do you have more than one mailing address that you can use? Ask the booth to change you to a different one. Same with email addresses. Then, next time you play, hand the SAME driver's license to the pit critter, and ask for a player's card. Odds are you'll get a card with a new number. It's possible something may happen eventually to cause the casino to merge accounts, but this usually works for a long time.

hey this sounds like a decent idea. does it work though? anyone else try this out? i would expect that they may ask to see your driver's license ?
 
Get real.


Asking a casino to issue a "name corrected" player's card will be unlikely to
work as your old data base information will be carried forward automatically.
