Any Reports From Hollywood Casino ?

Table games opened at Hollywood Casino near Harrisburg, PA yesterday, 7/13.
Has anyone been there yet, and what are the rules and conditions.

The games appear to have been as advertised (or required by law). S17, ~1.5/6 deck pen, LS, etc. Pit is actually pretty nice under the high ceiling there.

Some dealers appeared to be rookies (especially on the dice tables), and some relatively solid. A little slow in that respect, but some advanced technicians may be able to make something out of that.

Ahh, sorry to the board for the 6-deck/8-deck screw-up :( Thank you, Phoenix for setting that straight.

After briefly observing several games, I still attest to my opinions on the dealers. Case in point, I was mispaid twice in a short period of time playing craps (too much, actually)...not as a result of tokes, but just rookie mistakes.

I saw an interesting one there last night.

At a $25 min table a woman had $37.50 left and bet it all and hit a BJ. The dealer, who had been doing a good job, called the PB over to see what the payout should be. The PB said "Pay her $75".

Since there were no $1 chips at the table, I guess the nearest payout would have been $57.50. They usually round up in that situation, dont they?

That's a 2% bonus. Maybe I've been betting wrong. :grin:

Yes, the dealers will need time to (literally) get up to speed.
 
Iv been there twice, I found that all games are 8d with 4/8 played some dealers were only cutting off 3.

On my second trip I noted that after 8pm when shifts change many tables began opening with 6.5/8 dealt on about half of the tables in play. As I mentioned in my last report, it was not one dealer this time, but several tables, personally I played at 5 different tables that were 6.5/8 while many other tables were still 4.8

I do not understand their policy on penetration yet.

the procedure is to pay everything except the one pink chip the correct amount, and then pay the pink chip 4 dollars instead of 3.75

The payout should have been 52.50 +4 dollars.

I remember sitting at a table in PA recently, where everytime the dealer went to pay BJ, for a green chip she payed one green three red, and a pink, the dealer did it every time I got blackjack with an odd number of green chips
 
I would suggest skipping hollywood as I was there 2 days ago and the pen was 50 to 60%. The pit boss was saying some bs on how once the dealer starts dealing cards faster they would cut less. I was like :confused:. That makes no sense. If you want to improve the speed of the dealers, you would want to cut less so they have more cards to deal and work with before having to shuffle. :cool:

I was talking about the convention of rounding up to the next dollar, depending on how much is bet. It's probably not 2% either. I didn't give it much thought.

PS--Maybe, almost 1%.

Forgot to mention that hollywood when I was there limit people to min. bet in mid show entry.
 
Dave, the reason behind that is the casinos believe that by dealing faster, it will make it much harder for card counters to count. It will simply separate the amateurs from the pros.

I thought they were just using that as a poor excuse to cut 1/2 the decks. I suppose your excuse is a little plausible too.
 
Last time I was there PC was going on about how the state takes 50% instead of the 8% in AC and how they all had mortgages and car payments to make. Not sure how they will keep the lights on. This was in regards to the crappy comp cards but I'm sure they feel the same way about the AP boogeyman.

riiight, i'm sure they have trouble keeping the lights on.
