As a green to black player this is exactly my experience as well, Aslan. At least here in the desert. I play many of the same store and see the same faces, all too often to think that I am pulling anything over on them. When I sit down, I often see that look of recognition in their faces. Occasionally a nod. Most don't even come over and ask me for a card anymore, and yet they do so immediately with other players. Sure there are a few of these pit guys that are all gun-ho and will throw out a red chipper at the drop of a hat, but for most, you are only a problem, if you create a situation where they have to answer for your actions, because you had a huge win or played to long. Play short sessions, take what they are willing to give and move on and most will look the other way. It isn't necessarily that they are being nice to you, it is just the path of least resistance.
In your home game (especially if you play rated), it is nice to establish that your reason for leaving is unrelated to the plus count. Sometimes I leave after never receiving a plus count but the "table gods" just happened to be good to me in negative counts. The best they can surmise from their backward looking analysis of my play is that I tend to leave when I'm ahead.
