Wow! I've been out on the road for a few days of table time on the East Coast and haven't been on the board......I come back on and everything has gone to hell in a hand basket.....This sucks the big one. I was just getting comfortable in this "neighborhood". I hate the greenchip at bj21. The boards are so un-user-friendly. The board there is in a format out of 1995 and gives me a headache. Not sure where I will land now.
Thanks for all you've done with this site and for it's users Ken. I have gained a lot from these boards. While I'm very disappointed, I understand and respect your decision and I'm actually pleased that you have made a choice to spend your time on things you have more passion for. It takes courage to break from tradition when you know so many will be disappointed by the decision.

That's a good site and Mike's a good guy but there is not a lot of interest in blackjack on the Wizard of Vegas forum. A migration from this site could change that.
Thank god, no offense Zen, but I checked out your forum and I am not cut out for it. I still might post a couple times on the blackjack section though....

To understand my frame of mind with all this going on, picture "Apocalypse Now" in the scene where mortars are blowing up, explosions are lighting up the night sky and Jim Morrison is heard in the background singing, "This is the end... my only friend... the end... This is the end..."

New site suggestions:
A new site for former BJinfo members should discuss all +EV casino play. It should have information on the following topics: slot AP, comp hustling, card counting, poker, and video poker. These are listed in order, from what I think are most important to least important for the success of the site. Plenty of counting, poker, and video poker information is out there. There is little new to add to the discussion (with the possible exception of poker) which is one of the reasons this site headed in non-blackjack directions. The new site should touch on blackjack, poker, and video poker. It should have interesting articles and links to places to learn more (such as this site's archives.) Progressive slot information is what will make this site valuable. It should be like a Wizard of Odds for slots. Whenever a new progressive machine comes out (they seem to be getting more popular), this site should figure out and post the strike points. This is an information void, there isn’t much online. In my opinion this type of information can, should, and will be shared eventually. No opportunities will disappear when the information is more public. Casinos won’t pull machines like they would correct procedures/dealers if HC info becomes more readily available. Sure, some slot APs will be worse off if the information goes public but I think more good than bad will come from it. I think a lot of slot APs would learn that that are playing some machines they shouldn’t be, and that there are opportunities they don’t know about. Comp hustling should be better addressed, and fits in well with slot AP. This website should attempt to collect data on loyalty programs. There should be a page where people can provide information about where they played, for how long, bet sizes, etc. along with the offers they received. With enough participation some pretty good info for comp hustling could be gathered.
HC & advanced plays should be alluded to in public and discussed in private. A smaller (monthly fee) portion of the site should have lots of good information shared by a small trusted community. APs with questions about specific games/strategies should be able to pay for that information. This should be done over the phone, through web conference, personal coaching, or site sponsored live events (written material should not be distributed.) These services should be pricey, and only offered to those with good references within the community. Message boards/chat should be an important part of the site to keep traffic high. The site should contract with real life APs to blog, or even V-log to keep content fresh and interesting.

Jim Morrison was a poet and a genius. He was also a monstrous ass. There are some that demand if you are both, you should be able to come to a site and be both. I might agree. Except that those that have acted in such a manner here have the latter part down pat, but aren’t within light years of the former (outside of their own minds).
I forgive true genius. If Michelangelo insults me, I will still listen. I will understand the pain behind the experience that has bent his psyche and take what I can from what’s left. Sorry, but none of the people posting here are prophets. To compare what we do in a casino with genius is absurd. Comparing peaking at your opponent’s cards in a game with creative genius doesn’t make it in my book. When you come to a site, behave the way that humans should behave to one another. Pretending that your words drip gold and you should be allowed to treat other humans like crap, does not impress me.
