Winner at roulette? Or lucky sucker?

I have only played once two.

I was down to my last $5, and put it on red trying to get enough to play 1 hand at craps (which had a $10 minimum and the lowest house edge).

I got told the even money bets was minimum $15... so I move my bet to cover 6 numbers and one of them spun up. Never played again.

The simple fact is that CM posts that he can beat Roulette with zero explanation. When asked how; he says we aren't worthy of knowing. When someone else gives an answer giving actual resources - he claims they're all wrong and he would know because he is a 'real pro' and we aren't. Does it occur to you that you are the one 'falling for it.'

I post for enjoyment and to share and gain knowledge. Not to play some schoolyard game.

I think you're extremely defensive, and when CM posts something, you take personal offense and get into a pissing match. It's pretty funny to me...you fall for it every time ;) It's a good amount of levity, considering you just can't let it go.

What am I falling for anyways?

The fact that he is here for no reason other then to disrupt and provides no actual info. And that you claim he is being "up-front" when he throws insults at everyone but it's somehow unfair if anyone is "up-front" about him. And it is not a fight between me and CM - he attacks everyone. Examples:

"I'm going to refrain from answering this, ....... , as I must presume that it is beyond the capability of your intellect to grasp the answer."

"I'm sort of insulted that you think you're even in a league sufficient to engage in discourse with me"

"This is beyond the capability of your intellect"

"maybe next you can tap into those formiddable powers of intellect of yours to teach the newbies here how to scam a prize without actually buying a box of Cracker Jacks"

"You have no reading comprehension."

"Try to keep up."

None of the posts above were about me. So claiming that this is some sort of fight between us is nonsense. It is a fight between CM and anyone else that dares to post info. He dishes it out against posters, authors, established experts, everyone. He call them money hungry hacks, poseurs, salesmen. All to stop discussion. Apparently you find this humorous. Fine, I will leave you to it. I am returning to http://www.advantageplayer.com where trolls are not allowed.

I don’t think this was meant as a personal attack. It sounds like CM was just saying that Scott’s method looks great on paper but once you actually try it in a casino you’ll find several things that weren’t covered. As you mentioned, other publications do the same thing for obvious reasons.

And would you ignore John Patrick if he were here spreading bad advice?

Suppose you are at a party having a discussion and some guy constantly butted in adding nothing but "I know everything - you know nothing - I'm the only person that knows the answer - You're too dumb to understand the answer?" There is always another party where they throw out the trolls. I simply see no purpose in posting where trolls constantly disrupt. Call this hotheaded or whatever other name you wish. But I'm taking your advice to ignore him. By ignoring this entire forum. E-mail me if you wish to reply as I am outta here.

You're just wrong. Scott's techniques aren't used by any of the serious professionals I know and, in fact, everyone I know who has tried to put them to use as he presents them has failed to show a long-term profit. There are a few very powerful points that he completely misses or deliberately leaves out, and those details make the difference between an interesting idea and something to talk about on message boards (Scott's techniques), and something to go out and actually use in the real world of casino gambling. You really don't know what you're talking about, and your sources probably don't either. Especially not the ones on the casino side of the game. Either way, I'll definitely put my own experience ahead of you and your rumor mill. I've actually made a good amount of money at roulette. But, that said, I'm content to leave you in the dark and let you go on thinking Scott's methods are what real professional players use.

Again with the hyperbole. It is exactly the John Patricks of the world I'm posting against. Laurence Scott is just another John Patrick, in that he markets a gambling system that doesn't actually get the money. It requires further development, modification, and a little insight. Ron Shelley's book is actually a lot more enlightening. Or Russell T. Barnart's. Those books give you the theoretical tools you need to start understanding how to beat roulette and to devise a winning technique.

What you've never seemed to understand is that so much of the body of gambling literature out there is unsound, and that even applies to things beyond the realm of the obviously unsound like the works of John Patrick or various other overt hucksters. Unlike the totally shameless hucksters, Scott probably has conviction that his system is workable, just like you have conviction that your software is useful to a professional player. And you've both put a lot of time and effort into trying to make a valuable and legitimate contribution to the community. That doesn't make either of you right, and it doesn't mean you should be exempt from criticism. Motives shouldn't come into play when you're analyzing something in strictly pragmatic terms. The question is, "Does this get the money?" Or, "Is this worth my time and money?" Sometimes the answer is "no," even when the producers of information, software, systems, or whatever else have tried in earnest to do a good job.

Laurance Scott's system does not get the money. It has a lot of good ideas, and it can be developed further, but it won't get you the money if you try to use it as-is.
 
A reminder about Internet communications

Let all readers of this site be reminded that people are not always what they claim to be on Internet fora. Most of us are already aware that 18-year old "Tammy" is very likely to be 48-year old "Tommy." However this kind of subterfuge is found to varying degrees on all fora open to the public, and it is very easy to let one's guard down, particularly after you become familiar and comfortable with a forum.

Specifically, posters on advantage play fora often exaggerate their skills, experience, and betting levels. We are generally anonymous on these fora thus it is impossible to verify or prove (or disprove) anyone's claims about themselves or others, or even their identity. Therefore these sites should be treated as a source of ideas rather than facts, and no person should be taken especially seriously until your more skeptical side is fully convinced they should be.

Due to the nature of advantage play all participants should use good judgment before deciding to identify themselves to or meet another participant. A person whom you believe to be just a fellow player could potentially be a casino operative wishing to identify you or a criminal wishing to victimize you.

with regard to QFIT's software i've found it extremely helpful in the development of my game plan. i'm no pro by a longshot but the software has definately helped improve my understanding of ways to attack the game with an advantage. i'm sure that it has afforded me potential to get the money if i were so inclined. alas it is my own conservative nature when it comes to money that holds me back. that said the potential is still there which has value in and of it's self.
