So why not take a chance on life itself. True story I know a square who started with $2,000 started playing BJ less then 6 hours later left with $635,000 plus he tipped the dealers $35,000. I seen the check so I know its no bull. The casino tried everthing change dealers every shoe, cut more out of the shoe, raised the table limit to $10,000 but they could not get the square. I talked to some of the dealers that dealt that night they said out of 2 shoes (6 deck) he had only lost 6 hands they never seen anything like that ever. Next time I am with this guy he buys in for $25,000 runs in into $700,000 about the same story. So in the final analysis would you rather take a gamble or play the game of life inside its same little rules? I don't know of any AP personally who have won this kind of money. If you don't beleive it go down to the MGM in Detroit and ask them about the legend of Donnie. He is a LEGEND down there. :laugh:

Just got home from AC. Got there yesterday after lunch and got home today, 24h later.
A few comments to summarize Aslan's dilemma:
1. There are some (relatively) decent games in AC. You have to do the walk and look around. Some places are consistently bad, but I check them every few months anyway. You never know...
2. Borgata definitely has changed. Last night, it was a zoo there. So crowded, most table mins $50-100 and at least 2 decks cut off everywhere, even the hand shuffled pits. I found one dealer this morning cutting 1 1/2 decks, so that's the only table I played there (still lost a little bit.)
3. After reviewing my numbers of the last few months, I realized I needed to be more aggressive and less paranoid, despite some back-offs in the past. Spread aggressively and had no heat at all.
4. I played short sessions and only played good games. I wonged in and out as necessary (more out than in, as many of the games were NMS.)
5. Hitting big-time positive variance is great!

Great post! You know what to do now. AC requires no finesse- just work those legs, find that pen, and get your money down when (and only when) you have an advantage. If you worry about heat, you'll be moving so fast they'll never see you.

This sounds like it might be getting dangerously close to voodoo. If the dealer is drawing to 21, ther'es a good chance she's pulling out small cards. That would mean the count is dropping, which would mean that's when you should be in there placing your bets, not leaving. What was the count doing during this stretch?
No, it isn't. That's why they're ploppies.
If you're losing a lot in your high counts, then you're basically guaranteed to have a losing session, the results will swamp whatever happened in neutral/negative counts.
However, this doesn't mean that wonging is not worthwhile. It's still really great stuff.

Well, I did enjoy winning $2.000. who wouldn't, even if it was a stupid bet. I was tired, and my judgement was obviously impaired.

Hey Asian, congrats on a good thread and also on taking feedback with equanimity. With regard to your game plan, have you considered getting CBJN and CVCX and plotting - in advance of your trips - the city, specific casinos, specific games, spreads, etc? With a minimum SCORE of 50 in mind?
Question for those who do something similar and fly around the country to play - what are the best destinations for 2-3 nites and 20+ hrs of play at black level? Short sessions would require at least 4-5 casinos in proximity with beatable games, I suppose, to make the trip workable. Vegas and maybe South and North LA/Miss. fit the bill and, I guess AC, but where else? What would be the best destinations outside the U.S. with a similar game plan?

Avoid AC. The places you mention are good, plus Wendover if you know SD. Connecticut would work too- you won't burn out those games in 20 hours as long as you avoid the high limit rooms.

That is a huge turnaround since the summer. It's always pretty crowded prime time, but no $10 or $15 tables is what shocked me.

My friend was just up to Mohican Sun last week and said the pen was terrible. No chance of beating the games when he was there.

This week it was good enough pen--1 1/2 to 2 decks. Also, my firend talked to a dealer and he told them that the instructions are to cut poor pen when big money is in play, so avoid tables with BPs.
Also, Chef, we had several $10 tables, and one day we even had two $5 tables.

This week I arrived Monday morning at 2 A.M. and left Wednesday morning at 10:30 A.M. Last week I arrived Saturday morning at 10 A.M.and left Monday noon. Weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) are busier and therefore the games are poorer with poor pen and few low limit tables. Monday through Thursday are the best times for low limit tables and good pen. This week for example there was an extra blackjack area near the Steakhouse. By Monday evening it had been converted back to Asia Poker and mini-baccarat. Also, Monday and Tuesday the blackjack area in the far back of the casino (ir you call the hotel elevators the front of the casino) were completely closed down. Also, on Monday, the mid-limit blackjack area that usually features only $25 through $100 tables, had at least one $10 table. I am now targeting only weekdays for purposes of blackjack, and weekends only when the Mrs. is accompanying me, since she works during the week.
