So it's perfectly legal to tell the casinos a fake name. What if you are staying at that hotel? Can you still book in under a fake name. Basically, i just want to know what is illegal and legal when it comes to fake names/ addresses etc.

I don’t know about other countries, but in the US I believe you can get a hotel room (but not airfare) with a fake name as long as you don’t intend to defraud the hotel. As long as you intend to pay the bill and not skip out on any other charges (phone bill, property damage, dirty movies, etc.) you can use whatever name you want.

I worked at a hotel (a holiday inn in kansas city) for a while and you can pay cash for your room and not put down a credit card but if you want to charge your meal (room service) to your room or anything else you can't. If you do want room service, movies or whatever you can probably put down extra cash for room charges and get your balance when you check out.
 
So, do people who use fake names in the Casino just not get Players Cards?

If you were using a fake name and had fake ID, would they ever catch on that your "address" wasn't real?

I think most hotels request a credit card as a form of security deposit. If the room gets trashed and the TV ends up in the pool, they know they have a way of being reimbursed. I've never tried to check into a hotel with cash but they might require a refundable cash deposit for security instead.

Who said it wasn't a real address? It could be an alternative address like a PO box, mail drop, work address, neighbor's house, friend/relative's house, etc. Or if you don't care about getting the mail offers, just use a fake address and hope for the best. As a last resort you could always use 1060 West Addison. That's where the Blues Brothers live. :grin:

Its become a grey area. I've used fake ID many times for hotel check-in, but it could get you into an intense situation.
Here's a better way to do it (ZG Interview page-20) -

who want to use aliases and still get ratings and room comps, without having to risk carrying phony ID’s?

Simple, actually: Have friends and relatives obtain the player’s cards and give them to you. Then book the reservation in the player-card name, and add your real name as a second occupant. Then check in using your real name and ID, and leave a cash deposit in lieu of a credit card. After check-in, see the host or pit boss, using your player-card moniker, and make sure your comp is properly credited. By the way, when you check in, don’t forget to specify, “two beds,” if you get my
drift. That is unless your ‘persona’ is ‘flaming.’​
 
You can also get a subsidiary account to your credit card in a fake name. Like if you want your kid to be able to use your card.
