Weekend Warriors

Do we have a winner? zg

that was in the voodoo forum.
here it's all just one endless game, a team effort. no winners or losers.
with a N0 of about 44,200 rounds we are only about half way to just our point where the team should be ahead by at least one standard deviation.
but we are already two standard deviations to the good.

No. Just a final one-week super-slam no-limit showdown, then we'll crown
this year's winner as the 2008 BJINFO WEEKEND WARRIOR. zg
that can be done as a fantasful voodoo exercise.
goal can be what you want.
that can have meaning: say it was 1 million

yep ain't that just how it goes? that is i guess the thing about positive standard deviation isn't it? sigh. so but i guess if you have some nice positive standard deviation early on then you at least have a lot of wiggle room.

such as i didn't have here.... remmember this?

You guys are the best lol.

Say we've won $80K at this point and plug that in as a starting roll. From this point forward our ROR is like 0.05%. Chances of reaching $1MM in winnings 99.95%.

ZG - like The Wise One says, this is not a competition. What's the point of that? Two equally skillful CC's could be many thousands of dollars apart in results and who "won" would prove nothing. It's a team playing to a team bankroll.

More important question to ask might be "Who Lost?". So far, it appears The Evil Empire has lol.

Obviously i have to start playing to screw these semi-miraculous results up somewhere back to expected lol.

Sagefr0g is winning all the money I'm losing.

Sagefr0g is winning funny money, but you forget about the money he loses in real life....well, sometimes. LOL Meanwhile he is upsetting you because you are losing funny money at an equal but opposite rate. Just be happy you don't do this in real life....or do you? LOL If Sage ever repeated this in real life, we'd never hear the end of it! Maybe that's the next stage....hmm...what do you think, O wise and perspicacious Amphibian! Ready to hit the casinos bigtime?

Just kidding you, Canceler--I know you're not upset.

That was a past life...er...not too much past...you'll probably see me a third or next to third base at your $5 table one of these days. In my past life I had not yet learned about variance...lol...after a few roller coaster rides and a few bottles of acid reducer I decided my bankroll dedicated to gambling pursuits was insufficient for those high roller antics....I think they call it spreading...lol...it's still a lot of money to bet with a 1% edge...I'm used to a 10% or better edge playing pool...my heart couldn't stand living on a 1% edge....I was just thinking...say you only get to play 10 hands an hour in a positive count....that's only 120 hands in 12 hours. If someone wanted to flip coins 120 times for $1000 a flip giving you a 1% edge, would you jump at it? 120 flips is not exactly enough time to ensure a winner. Even a 1000 flips isn't much...the coins don't "try" to come out even. In fact, they may never come out even...100,000 times and they might still be against you....LOL...1% is a long way from certainty...I guess that's why they use a billion or more in simulations...something I don't have time for...lol

yep i get your drift lol. to me it's gamblin with hopefully an edge
i wouldn't doubt at crowded tables it may only be around 120 hands i dunno...
but maybe you might get a bit more positive hands heads up......
just for an anecdotal sample. i took around 1,200 of my hands from my cvbj logs. sorted each hundred hands and counted up the positive true count hands that presented:

circa
100 hands____________# of hands_______true count range
1st_____________________ 1_______________ 1
2nd ____________________ 52______________ 1-5
3rd_____________________ 52______________ 1-7
4th_____________________ 22______________ 1-6
5th_____________________ 42______________ 1-10
6th_____________________ 22______________ 1-4
7th_____________________ 26______________ 1-9
8th_____________________ 5________________1-2
9th_____________________ 42_______________1-6
10th_____________________ 43_______________1-14
11th_____________________27_______________ 1-5
12th____________________ 44_______________ 1-4
so like i had about 378 positive tc hands in circa 1,200 hands
made $18,435.00 in those hands, lol what ever that means...

yeah i know i keep waitin for the other shoe to drop. i think probably we're getting more positive true's cause of the relatively deep pen 80% .
so with as much standard deviation as i've got racked up i guess if i kept playing and playing that eventually i'd start droppin down towards ev lol.
i'll slow down some so you's guys can win some lol.
.........

probably could if we let him hold some of the money :eyepatch:
lol even if it's play money. he'd just like to hold it for us. lol
