Dice Control: Is It Cheating?

another thing, i was playign the other night and the table closed down at 4am. the dealers called "last roll" and told me i could roll one more time and place a pass bet, 7 or 11 i win craps i lose, anythign else push since they were closing down. they basically offered me a one-roll 50% edge even without dice control. i decided not to bother setting and just take my chacnes with a $100 bet, too bad i hit a 6 :P i'm trying to fix the whole vampire sleep schedule thing but i'm too tempted to go back and see if i get that EVERY night

Sorry guys...

I had been popping in here and there to see what was going on, but didn't have much to contribute so stayed silent. However, things have been VERY busy the last couple months and I have been really out of touch. All is definitely well...too well!

Definitely...it helps to have a new laptop to keep up with things wherever I go too. That was a big problem with travel and such. I promise not to be such a stranger ;)

There's nothing complicated about the math at all. It's squarely a function of manual dexterity and whether you can do what the math says to do. This is fundamentally different from blackjack, where the math is rather complex, but execution is pretty easy.

I just got a laptop myself. I don't like the finger pad much. I got a USB mouse but I haven't set it up yet. Also, I hate it when I have to use the phone lines instead hooking into a highspeed wireless net. But I really like being able to stay in touch when I'm out of town. Also, use my new phone, but it's really slow on the internet. Sometimes I think it would be better to get rid of all this stuff, and go back to a simpler life.

when i'm home mine is always hooked up to a usb mouse, a usb keyboard and a large flat screen monitor.

i'm not really sure. i asked my son who has a laser mouse and he says they work better on various surfaces than an optical. he also considers the laser mouse more accurate for game playing. for example have you ever noticed your cursor suddenly jump to a differant position on the screen for no apparent reason with an optical mouse? apparently a laser mouse doesn't do that as badly.

I think I went for the laser--don't remember. I'll have to wait until I get back home Sunday. Lol I know it cost a lot more.

another thing i have for my laptop when i'm home with it is an aircooling unit for it to sit on.
so anyway i think now laptops are the way to go. cheap & powerful. just toss em when they fall behind progress and hopefully the new ones will be just as cheap as you can find them now.

good idea on the air cooling unit.
 
well even if you can throw the dice on axis, even if faces are off, then you throw 20% less 7's using hardway. I bought chris's book on dice control, i don't have a shooting station but i find leaning over a chair awkward, I need a real table to make me feel comfortable. I want to get a dice station, A small one, I'm a cheap 14 year old pothead, anyhow i don't know where I'm going with this sentence but yeah, I want to do dice control to pay for college.

You definitely need something to practice on...something with the correct table surface and diamond walls. Otherwise, you're only half way there.

How about smoking less and studying to pay for college?

Far too many kids want to grind it out - at the $5/hr blackjack game or at a $5/hr cashier job - to pay for college. The best way to pay for college is to get into a really good college. More people attend Harvard for free than for full price - probably a slam dunk now that they've waived tuition for 90% of the population, but even tuition was $50,000/yr, more people attended Harvard for free than for full price.

College tuition uses what's known as price discrimination - basically asking people to pay as much as they can. They'll set tuition absurdly high, and then give out scholarships and grants to 99% of the incoming class. All you really need to do is be good enough so that colleges are chasing you, rather than you chasing colleges.

The biggest EV move you can make in your life is to find a job you like, and work exceptionally toward it and at it. When you get a $10,000 signing bonus from the law offices of Dewey, Cheatum, and Howe, use it as a bankroll for AP; when you get promoted from Assistant Manager to Manager, negotiate an extra week of vacation and use it as time to go AP; when you're a professional skateboarder and touring the US, stop by Las Vegas for a few rolls then. Don't waste your life dreaming of becoming a millionaire with a homemade craps table and a $100 bankroll.
 
of course, I don't plan to be a millionaire, My plans was to make 20k at a "legit job" then use it as a bankroll for AP, I hope to score myself a scholarship, but if I don't, I won't have to knock my parents doors down for money. I hope to become self sufficient early in life. Dave Ramsey said " live like no-one else, so you can live like no-one else later in life."
