True, none of the zero edge games count.
However, when you can get 5gbp free to play, with no deposit necessary, what can you possibly lose?
In my first 6 weeks of playing Zero Edge Blackjack I'd made 4000GBP off 5 -25GBP bet spreads. So getting that initial bonus and playing it on their normal blackjack etc is no big drama. At least then you have an account that you can use to play the zero edge games.
I've played online for a very long time - but I've not found any other casino that has such a favourable blackjack game for players as Zero Edge blackjack.

A question for davidpom . . .
Why would you spread your bets if there is no advantage from counting down the deck to be had? Wouldn't it be safer to bet low and play volume in order to decrease the natural variation and RoR?. Out of interest, do you know where your winnings / win-loss curve sits against a measure of Standard Deviation? I've played a little online and taken advantage of playing for a monthly top-up bonus, but frankly I find playing BS for 2500 hands a bore and unfulfilling - I spend enough time behind the screen of a PC to earn my daily bread - and I think there are more interesting and enjoyable ways of pulling in £50.00-ish a month.
On another matter, I took your name in vein in another area of the forum where there was a short (and inconclusive) discussion about being on the end of a marching order from a UK casino. I don't know if you've read it, but no offence was intended - just some speculation I made as to why every membership you held within casinos in the UK was cancelled within such a short space of time. I don't know the full story of course, but from what you've published on the web I personally think someone, somewhere stitched you up.

I always had a pretty good idea. My most extreme result was on the + side - up 862 flat-units in ~75000 hands. About 3 SD to the good. (Assumed flat-betting, didn't actually do it lol). Obviously I had to record my W's, L's, and T's and BJ's lol. Sounds like alot to do maybe but I found a way that was easy for me to do it lol.
At another joint, different software, different game, down 350 flat units in about 8700 hands - about 3 SD on the wrong side of the curve.
Intercasino used to have a SD game that was very close to zero HA and allowed it to be played for the bonus. The comp alone made it +EV. Using comp-dependent strategy lowered it more. Unfortunately it had a $25 min so not ideal lol for me. But I liked it.
Don't know the Betfair game but the closer to 0 HA the more susceptible to voodoo. a/k/a bet spreading in your terminology.
Like you I think, I mostly flat-bet, always used BS. If you want to pursue the SD stuff for your internet play, I can tell you what hoops you have to jump thru to do it. Let me know if you are interested in that aspect.
