Are ASMs necessarily bad? I know CSMs are bad.

    PA. casino review

I finally got a chance to visit the Sands on Sunday afternoon now that they have real table games. I was severely disappointed. There were only $15 and $25 tables and they were thoroughly packed. Not an empty seat in the house. I had to settle on video BJ which I didn't do too well on. The...

    Blackjack Bluebook II by Renzey

Okay, I started by reading "Winning Casino Blackjack for the Non-Counter" by Cardoza. This was a very good book for me. It brought a newbie like me up to speed pretty quickly. It started my journey with basic strategy. Next, was "The Color of Blackjack" by Dravot. This book was good because...

    Sands Casino in PA

I haven't been to the Sands in 3-4 weeks. At that time, the Sands was in the process of setting up tables for BJ. Does anyone know if these tables are open yet? If not, when? Thanks.

    Offering advice

I just wanted to mention that there is no pit boss or dealer. This is on a video BJ table. So, giving advice would not be noticed by anyone. Only the other players would take note. Real BJ tables are coming next month. This gives me more time to learn BS better and start learning counting. ;)

    Offering advice

Yeah, I really hate to see stupid play. The casinos have enough of an advantage. ;) I was on a table before this one where I had conversation with another player about this very situation. This guy was telling me how he just witnessed a guy splitting 10's. Even I knew before studying BS that...

    Offering advice

I was at the Sands today trying out my new-found knowledge of BS when a player asked advice. She had two 10's and wanted to know if she should split them. Nobody said anything. Finally, I blurted out that I would never split a hand of 20. Immediately I thought that maybe I shouldn't had said...

    Surrender 17 vs A?

Thanks. How do I learn all these variations? Is there a web site that shows which boxes on the charts change with each variation? It's very confusing. I'm having a hard time learning one.

    Surrender 17 vs A?

I've been practicing my BS using the Trainer on this site. I'm set to 6 decks, H17, DAS, Late Surrender. I have a 17 with the dealer showing an ace. I tried to stand, but the trainer said the correct play is surrender. Is this correct? I looked in my book, "The Color of Blackjack" and it says to...

    Early or late

The video BJ table that I play at in PA has the following rules: 1. If the dealer's up card is an ace, she offers insurance, then checks for BJ before allowing a surrender. 2. If the dealer's up card is a 10, play continues, you can surrender before she turns over her facedown card. So...

newbie intro and a few questions

Thanks for the input. I just picked up a copy of "Winning Casino Blackjack for the Non-Counter" and "The Color of Blackjack". Is "Blackjack BlueBook II" better than "The Color of Blackjack"?

newbie intro and a few questions

Hi all, So far, I've been a casual player at BJ. I do okay since I play very conservatively. I'm trying to learn the basic strategy tables to help my gameplay. Since I live in northwest NJ, I go frequently to the Sands in Bethelem, PA and Mt Airy in the Poconos. Both have only table video...
