    Just need a little help

I was taught that a Marine was a Marine, a Soldier was in the Army, an Airman was in the Air Force, and a Sailor was in the Navy. As a point of pride each one has in his/her respective service, it is usually best to attempt to not get them too worked up. As I went to school with a couple...

    Miami

In case anyone gets down that way, I did find the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood (nr Ft. Lauderdale), which had poker tables (and slots). It was fun, but busy. Down in Miami, there were a couple places with Jai Alai betting and poker, as well as another Indian Casino out near the...

shouldn't there be a way to figuar out the best betting strategy

New Strategy OK, how about this? Bet one, win, bet one, lose, bet one, win, etc. When the Basic Strategy dictates, double down. When the count is favorable, up the bet according to the positive count... Sorry, I just couldn't resist! :joker:

Bathroom Break - Leave chips on table?

I guess I should have mentioned earlier that this is what I do- pocket any high value chips (which is usually VERY few  ) and leave the lower ones there, with the cheapest on top... :joker:

    First Three Cards n° 4

Ken's .11 factor Ken's .11 factor relates to the actual mathematical advantage/disadvantage to the player, as derived from the particular set of rules of that game (single deck, S17, DAS, etc.). You can check out the wizard of odds site for particular computations. :joker:

Bathroom Break - Leave chips on table?

Leaving your chips is perfectly acceptable in my experience. Just ask the dealer to hold your spot and leave the chips. Between the dealer, the pit, and the eye in the sky, they are probably safer there than in your pocket in the bathroom.

    one that works for me

Personally, I prefer the lower risk of flat betting with a limited progression, based upon the "up and pull" strategy. You don't gain as much, but you also can stay around longer without losing your shirt. Eventually, you just play with the winnings. Once you are up, by dividing the winning...

    Headed to Vegas

Vegas Baby Vegas I am overdue myself, as it has been a few years. As far as food goes, there are tons of good restaurants, but I will list just a couple: Buca di Beppos (sp?- chain with excellent Italian family or mob style cuisine), Garlic Cafe, Circus Circus had a pretty decent and cheap...

    Playing in A.C.

Has anyone been to the Taj lately? It has been a few years for me, but I always played the 6 deck there. They usually had good pen, but I was just playing BS. The $5 tables were getting scarce, although moving up to at least $10 kept some of the more annoying people away, so I started to do...

    slow the dealer down

If you get behind, you could try acting like you are figuring out what to do with your cards, then the dealer should pause and wait for you. You can then glance at the other players cards or seek help from the table. Of course, too much of this will irritate everyone if there is a nice rhythm...

    St. Maarten

I was wondering if anyone else had experienced any of the casinos in St. Maarten. They are all a little ratty, but I think the nicest is Casino Royale near Simpson Bay (by the airport), although the rules for other games, such as Antillean Poker, are not as favorable to the player as the ones on...
