I'm not looking for accuracy, just letting everyone knowSystemsTrader said:. So if you are an AP looking for accuracy from this movie you will be disappointed.
If that's the case, I'll boycott the movie. No way am I going to support a product designed to deceive the public to enrich the casinos.Dabucci said:I've just found out today that in the film they DO show card counting as High Cards +1, Low Cards -1 and to RAISE your bet when the count is HIGH. Outrageous, but also very good for the casinos !!
But why? Enriching casinos is good for us. zgAutomatic Monkey said:If that's the case, I'll boycott the movie. No way am I going to support a product designed to deceive the public to enrich the casinos.
but not so good if that enrichment is the result of decieving the public in such a way that the public would take action in good faith based on that decietful information and suffer loss as a result. which is the premiss of the argument. thing is it seems the information is probably just in error and not deliberate deciet. but who knows lol.zengrifter said:But why? Anyone who attempts card counting with significant $ without doing their homework deserves to lose.sagefr0g said:but not so good if that enrichment is the result of decieving the public in such a way that the public would take action in good faith based on that decietful information and suffer loss as a result. which is the premiss of the argument. thing is it seems the information is probably just in error and not deliberate deciet. but who knows lol.
I love it! They'll be Wonging out when I'm Wonging in! High counts and empty tables are a dream come true.Dabucci said:I've just found out today that in the film they DO show card counting as High Cards +1, Low Cards -1 and to RAISE your bet when the count is HIGH. I agree. If people are dumb enough to even think they know what they are doing by simply watching this movie, than they really do deserve to lose. I can see it now...A bunch of dummies and their friends trying to make a killing in one night.Knox said:Anyone who attempts card counting with significant $ without doing their homework deserves to lose.
It was on purpose, and no different than the billboard that says "Everyone wins at Sam's Town." zgsagefr0g said:but not so good if that enrichment is the result of decieving the public in such a way that the public would take action in good faith based on that decietful information and suffer loss as a result. which is the premiss of the argument. thing is it seems the information is probably just in error and not deliberate deciet. but who knows lol.
Boycott it by viewing a file share version. zgAutomatic Monkey said:If that's the case, I'll boycott the movie. No way am I going to support a product designed to deceive the public to enrich the casinos.
I very much admire your and Automatic's scruples (such are rare, to be sure), but at the same time, ollywood routinely dramatizes, exaggerates, and just plain errs. Nowanyone so impulsive as to rush headlong into a casino and attempt card-counting on the basis of a single film almost DESERVES to lose. It is well known that, in films purporting to be based on fact, Hollywood routinely dramatizes, exaggerates, reinterprets, and just plain errs. Now, if it were on the basis of a single (reputable) BOOK purporting to contain totally factual, perfectly valid info, that would be a different story.sagefr0g said:but not so good if that enrichment is the result of decieving the public in such a way that the public would take action in good faith based on that decietful information and suffer loss as a result. which is the premiss of the argument. thing is it seems the information is probably just in error and not deliberate deciet. but who knows lol.
