Guys- looks like we've got some assault crews working the intersections of the unplowed sidestreets. Saw one guy fleeing his car due to a beating, then I had a street person force me to stop in a snowdrift and try to shake me down for money, until I had to chimp out on him. No police are out anywhere.

Not only that, there is very little to play. Recommend that unless you have definite plans to avoid the city until this is resolved.

Last year when I visited Las Vegas, I forgot my TV card for my laptop. I searched Internet and found the address for an electronics store. Soon after I got off the bus in the inner city, I was approached by a young black guy. And he wanted money! Thanks god I am a good runner.

I wasn't walking, this was in my car! You cannot get through the drifts without momentum. This bastard walks into the street forcing me to stop, then when my car is immobilized comes up and demands money to push me out. I told him- Foxtrot Oscar- then he stands at the rear corner of my car preventing me from doing what I had to do to get out of the drift without risking hitting him. Hitting him was an option, but I opted instead to get out of my car and walk towards him, saying something that could have gotten me arrested on both state and federal charges, and fortunately for both of us he was smart enough to leave.

Do you guys remember these 2 carjackers? They carjacked, kidnapped, and murdered a Taj's patron. To minimize the risk of getting carjacked, I would not get out of my car and 'chimp out" on the criminal. Besides, the criminal might not understand "Foxtrot Oscar", but he surely understands the pain of getting "pepper-sprayed" in his face. Spray him once and call 911 to tell the dispatcher that you had discharged a chemical weapon against a potential carjacker. Pepper Spray is quick, simple, effective, no mess, and above all, it gets the element of surprise if you hide it within your palm before firing.

I Hear ya, things seem to be gettin a little out of control these days. I dont see it so much as an issue about snowdrifts or Atlantic city but rather the people in our society feelin the repercussions of the ecomomy. Perhaps its just me, but i cant even leave my cigarettes on the bar anymore when i go to the bathroom or someone will steal them. Just last week, someone tried to steal my coat and during the same night i beat some girl in pool and she retaliated by discreetly putting a cigarette in my beer. Within the past 3-6 months ive been seing and hearing more stories about someone trying to rip someone off. Even a friend of mine was threatened late at night for his money by someone hiding behind a building. Coincidence? I dont think so! There seems to be a pattern of desperation and frusteration amoung the people in the air. Fair warning.

Pepper spray is fantastic. Legal almost everywhere, and you can beat the living hell out of someone if they can't see you.

"NEW JERSEY: Legal with restrictions.

Any non-felon 18 or over may possess for the purpose of self-defense "one pocket-sized device which contains and releases not more than three-quarters of an ounce of chemical substance not ordinarily capable of lethal use or of inflicting serious bodily injury, but rather is intended to produce temporary physical discomfort or disability through being vaporized or otherwise dispensed in the air". Section 2C:39-6i.

NEW YORK: Legal with restrictions.

The possession of "self-defense sprays" by persons who are not felons or who have been convicted of an assault, 18 or over for the protection of person or property and its otherwise lawful use is legal. "Self-defense spray" is defined as "a pocket sized spray device which contains and releases a chemical or organic substance which is intended to produce temporary physical discomfort or disability through being vaporized or otherwise dispensed in the air or any like device containing tear gas, pepper spray or similar disabling agent". There are certain labeling requirements. Sales require both a seller's license and the completion by a purchaser of a registration form. New York residents may only purchase defense sprays from licensed Firearms Dealers or licensed Pharmacists in that state. No more than two sprays may be sold at any one time to a single purchaser. PENNSYLVANIA: Legal.

"Chemical mace" is specifically excluded from the definition of weapons. There appears to be no regulation or restriction on the lawful use of self-defense sprays. "

Aslan, it might not be the case for Philly though...not 100% sure, but it's illegal to have a firearm in the city. Either way, I'm in your court on what you said above.

Concerning carrying a concealed weapon in Philadelphia:

I'm not as tough as any US serviceman. My action was actually one of fear, I wanted to make sure I was out of there before any other street people came on the scene, while the odds were still in my favor. If I was a US Marine, I would have waited in my car until all his partners showed up before dispatching them, so I would only have to take one shower.

It's been a weird week, all the street people are inside, and I've been getting panhandled and propositioned for everything in the casinos.

You would think the casinos would make sure that the streets get plowed for the players . . . I'm back in town this weekend. I'll look for you
