Wow, some nice additions from last year. The $25 MP at the Westin looks great .... close to the strip. $25 at the Sahara is nice too.

I predict that the Montelago one will get pulled. I know it's out of the way, but that's some pretty solid value. I wonder if the max $200 means they'll pay out up to an extra $200 (ie, $800 on a $400 BJ), or if they'll pay the 2:1 on up to the first $200 you bet (ie, $400 on a $200 BJ).

That Montelago one is incredible, but yeah, I'm sure the 2:1 caps off at $200 (ie. max bet of $100 for full payoff). The MPs seem to be similar to the 2009 one, but with most places being well off the strip, it probably decreases the value a bit. I never hear people talking about the free play coupons in this, but these are pretty valuable too. The Hooters one is a joke because the $200 can only be used on special machines that they have roped off, and even then you only get payed on a jackpot, but if you sign up for the players club card, they usually give you more free play on top of that. I probably made close to $100 on my last Vegas trip on free plays alone (and lost much more than that on MPs!).

Match Plays

Are players club cards required to use these matchplays or can any anonymous person use them?

Nevermind, found the answer to my question. The guide includes a discount card to present.

Most places want a Players Card, few ask for the ACG card. It's best to have both ahead of time.
Great point. In several trips to LV over the last two years I bought the ACG, I think there was 1 person who asked for the ACG card...Ellis Island, I think.

Speaking of Ellis Island, the "4 Free Drinks" coupon is one of the best  The wife and I head straight to the bar, get all four of their varieties in big-ass glasses and go from there.

good luck :joker:

This year, Ellis Island has 3 rounds of drinks for 2 people and a $10 MP. I've noticed that their craps dealers aren't too concerned about MPs, but the BJ dealers want a player's card. The Montelago coupon actually is as described, if anyone was wondering. I didn't get a chance to use it this trip, unfortunately. I was surprised about that Sahara MP. They go from a $5 BJ MP last year to a $25 one this year? I didn't even use the $5 one from the 2009 guide because it wasn't worth the trip, so I had $30 in MPs for the Sahara this time. Anyway, the 2010 guide has already payed itself off many times over for me, and it's not even 2010 yet. Nice!

Only the extreme low roller will bother going out of his way for a $5 MP, so it really is in the casinos best interest to make the MP a higher denomination.
$5 MPs attract a crowd I'm not sure you really want in the first place.
I think Red Rocks LVA coupon is perfect. Buy $120 non-negotiable chips for $100, along with a $25 MP and a 2-4-1 meal coupon. It doesn't bring in a "$40 bankroll" type of gambler , insures the person doesn't do a hit and run coupon play but is enough value to attract people. How many would venture out to RR for a $5 MP?

Unfortunately the Connecticut section is a joke.

FREE appetizer with purchase of 2 entrees at Veranda Cafe at Foxwoods
2-for-1 Soup or Salad at Cedars at Foxwoods
FREE appetizer with purchase of 2 entrees at Hard Rock Cafe at Foxwoods

BFD. In fact, it's an insult.

According to ACG's website Ellis Island is no longer honoring their 2010 coupons. I don't know if this also applies to the 4 free drinks coupon.

Damn, the 4 drinks coupon was one of my favorites! It's no huge loss, though—a lot of the staff there looks at you like a criminal if you try to pass off a MP on them. Luckily, I used all of my Ellis coupons from the 2010 guide already (including the 4 drinks).

Their drinks are a buck apiece. No great loss. I honestly don't see the great attraction of the place. You have to wait a half hour anytime you want to eat, and their bartenders are unfriendly, at best. Their games suck.
The BBQ is pretty good, but thats about it.

Update...

This was posted by someone on another Vegas board Re: Ellis Island. Take it for what it's worth I guess......

Due to coupon abuse, in order to redeem these coupons, you must present an out-of-state Driver's License or ID Card. Additionally, you can only redeem each of the coupons once per year and any person attempting to use the same coupon more than one time, as stated in the rules, may be asked to leave the property. Remember, any coupon must be presented along with your Passport Players Club Card and the American Casino Guide discount card.

Shad, Ellis Island is a dump, for sure, but that's why I like it. The games are lousy, but it's not a bad place to stop in and get 4 free cocktails at, especially if you have a MP handy.

Does the ACG card come with the Guide itself? I bought 2 guides, one for me, one for my friend, through amazon. we're heading to vegas towards the end of this month. I don't know what the ACG discount card is???
