Best counting method?

Hey guys. I've got into the card counting thing for a couple of months now, and pretty good at the Hi-Lo count method. I wanted to know if the Hi-Lo system has the most easy to profit ratio or are there easier methods that are more efficient?

I know there are harder methods, which are more efficient, but is it really that more efficient that it's worth the extra effort?

Just need clarification from some experts :)

Thank you.

Are looking for "EASY" or "Most Efficient". What is extra effort worth. I'm asking these things because a lot depends on your attitude toward the game and defines what you really need. Are you an occasional recreational player... A serious player.. an aspiring Pro? If your a recreational player.. then any count your are comfortable with will do... anything else, and you need to define it in terms of Time vs Dollars.

I would like to be a serious player. But I want to start slow and learn the ropes a bit before I go into advanced systems. What do you recommend?

Read them all. Hi-Lo, Ko, Kiss, Red 7, Omega, SIPs and others. Each is good, each is different and find the one that fits you best. Some work better on single or double deck, some work better on shoes. Figure out which game you'll be playing the most and go from there. There is no one single best system.

Pretty much what Shadroch said.. Some counts work better in in different games... and there are Hybrids you can learn also... Personally I don't get why folks think a level one is any harder to learn than a level two... but go to Qfits site to compare the different counts and ease of use vs overall effectiveness.
If I were just starting out... I would think long and hard about which count I wanted to learn... It's easier to learn one well and not have to switch later.

hope that helps.

I've been using the Hi-Lo count and am pretty good at it now, can make out the true count pretty quickly, and can go through a deck within 35 secs. Is the Hi-Lo pretty effective in an actual casino situation?

Hi-Lo is the most popular count In use.. It's a good all around count... IMO it works better in multi deck games, but is some what lacking in single and DD games.

i would tend to agree w/ Daddybo. HiLo is often the standard of comparison. In other words, the effectiveness of a count is sometimes deteremined by how it matches up against HiLo in terms of (Score, EV, etc...). Daddybo is also right in stating that there r many different counts to serve many differnt needs. QFIT's website has a strategy calculator to help determine which one(s) are better for you. If you're heart is set on HiLo you probably will not be disappointed, however, KO is more simple and stronger both in shoe and pitch games. You could even look into REKO by QFIT. (this can be found in most detail in QFIT's ebook - http://www.qfit.com/book

I'd say if you were already going to learn a balanced count you might as well start with a level 2. Counting by 1's and 2's really isn't that difficult, and there's a fairly good gain from making that minor adjustment. I'd especially recommend this if you plan on playing SD or DD. If you're playing shoes mainly it might be good for you to find a good unbalanced count with a high BC.

Could you post a link to this strategy calculator?

KO (Knock-Out) has about the same results and is easier.
hi qfit , why u always promoting KO counting

while i read the kiss count method , the author said the yield is better than KO

actually who s telling the truth ? KISS or KO better and what are their main difference ?

KO and KISS 3 are pretty much equal in BC and IC w/ KISS 3 having a slight advantage in PE. However, you must realize that KISS 3 has a suit aware 2 meaning you would count either the red or black 2s as +1 and not count the other color. Similar theoretical performance, and KO does not have the confusion of being suite aware. I don't know about KO or KISS, but REKO has compromised indexes (less to memorize). In terms of SCORE, REKO passes KISS 3 as pen gets better in 6d games, catches up to KISS in 8d, consistent w/ KISS in DD, and far better in SD.
