Blackjack with the side games.

Does anyone play the side games while they are playing blackjack, like the 2 card poker or the match thing. I played it the other day and i eneded up winning fairly often, but i'm not sure how much it helps out.

It doesn't help - IT HURTS, regardless of what your limited trial yielded. Worry ONLY about learning BASIC STRATEGY to start. zg

i found that you have the best odds of winning the royal match bet by playing it whenever they bring a new deck of cards to the table. with a new deck all the suits match already. I will play 2 hands and then put a pretty good bet on the royal match bet with a new deck. I would say i win at least one of them 9 out of 10 times.

This last trip to Vegas,I noticed some casinos had switched the royal match to 2-1 for a suited and 50-1 for a royal match.I tracked the cards and whenever the K/Q of Spades didn't come out the first three rounds,i'd risk a buck on rounds 4/5. Never hit it but my thinking was that the odds wre worth taking a shot at the 50-1 payout.
My very last game of BJ in Vegas this trip,I was playing at the IP,$10 minimum DD table.Bought in for $200,couldn't catch a hand and was soon down to my last $70.With 10 minutes til my car was to pick me up,I bet $30 each on 2 hands with a $5 Lucky Lady bet on each.
Got two 20s for $40 and pushed both hands.Upped my bets to $50 and $5 and was dealt a BJ and King/Jack of Spades
for a total payoff of $170.Walked with $275 and a smile on my face. I've rarely experianced such a swing in two rounds of BJ.
Was it a bad play? Yes,it was a sucker bet-but winning cures everything. Will I do it again? hate to say it,but yes.
There is a way to bet some side bets, but as ZG said-
concentrate on learning BS before anything else.

There is something to that, but don't get carried away just because your short term results were do good. zg

Bonus

I have played the side bet here at a casino. Fifty-cent on the button and if you get a blackjack it pays 20-to-1 or $10. If the blackjack is suited then it's an additional $25. I bet this side bet when the true count got to +4 and there were more aces in the pack to be played than if the cards were coming out as "normal" (ex. 6 deck shoe and 2.5 decks have been dealt, I would only play at +4 count and more than 14 aces left). I bet three straight times and won $10 on the third try. I didn't try anymore that night.

Also with this side bet there is a "triple-seven" feature. If you get three suited seven (not suited) you get a variable bonus pot which was at $2500 when I was playing. At least that's how I understood it. I need to figure out how to count 7's more than aces since the bonus is so big.

I know it's a sucker bet but I only have played it when I had an advantage. I don't play it often. I am still learning to play with an advantage.
