Anyone think there is anything to the theory that a casino may send another dealer to a table when a player is having a good win streak so the new dealer can burn a card and change the order of the cards coming of out of the shoe? I swear it happens and it seems like that extra burn card changes things sometimes. Do they monitor this and send "relief in" when needed?:flame:

The cards are random. If you burn a card there is just as much chance that it was about to turn the dealer's way, but for the burned card. A bad shoe is a bad shoe only in retrospect. There is no way to know from one hand to the next which way it might go except for your knowledge of what's already been played (counting, anyone?). What I don't like is that they're burning one more card that I don't get to see. As far as it changing the order of the cards-- that is all nonsense. No one knows the order of the remaining cards in the first place!
thanks but i don't think it is nonsense. i have had good win streaks several times and the order of the cards was just perfect and then it gets messed up with the extra burn card, which yes you admit can mess it up. just wondering if you think they mess up the order of the cards on purpose when it is good for the player.

It does happen, but its just as likely to make your cards worse or better.
I agree with every word Aslan says. However; many - if not MOST of the sweatier places will ROUTINELY pull dealers in an attempt to somehow break a player's luck. Of COURSE it's ridiculous, but try telling that to some of these idiot pit bosses. :laugh:

Listen, all you know is what the order of the cards already dealt were. This has nothing whatsoever to do with what the order of the remaining cards is. You are making a big mistake to assume because its going your way at first that it will continue to go your way to the end. It is not logical, mathematical, or in any way sensible. You need to stop listening to your feelings and base your game on mathematical principles.

Good win streaks randomly happen - and that IS in the math books as well as the real world of playing. If you READ the book, and understand the math behind it; you can predict with certainty how often they will happen. But the book will also teach you how to mathematically prove that it can't be predicted WHEN they will happen, or whether or not an ongoing streak will continue.
How I wish that there WAS some truth to this fallacy. You could OWN the casino in ONE DAY! Just stand behind a baccarat table and wait for a streak of player or banker, then bet the h*ll out of it!

I've sat at so called lucky table before the house taking a beating. They change dealers and still no change in the beating so they change again. The best one I've ever had was who was suppose to be relief at this table. I likened it to musical chairs only with dealers. The house was able to burn six cards with three different dealer changes. Well guess what?, it didn't make one difference and we continued to pound them. Don't let emotions get in the way of the math.
