I am making my first trip to Los Vegas in two weeks and have a few comped rooms at a harra's property Planet hollywood and need to know what they will charge my credit card for my comped room per night. When I have stayed at Trump in atalnti city the charge is $5.96 and when I have stayed at showboat in Atlantic city, another harra's property, the charge was $12. Does anyone know what the charge is in Las vegas for harrah's. I am on a very tight budget and watching all expenses. thanks

Be sure to ask about "resort fees" which many casinos have implemented. You should be exempt if you have a full comp-----but I'd still ask.

Harrahs does not have resort fees at any of their AC or Vegas hotels.
I believe that to be true chainwide, but know for certain it is true in AC, Vegas and Laughlin.

HET properties in AC don't have resort fees, but most players getting comped rooms have to pay taxes, $13/ day I believe.

If you booked online, your reservation should show the tax amount you will be charged. When you check out of your room, check out at the front desk and have them take any charges off of your comp account.

There are No Taxes or Fees on Vegas rooms. None.Nada. Nunca. Nothing to have them take off the bill since there is nothing there to begin with.

HET has a 12% tax on rooms. If comped there is no tax. MGM props do have a resort fee of roughly $15 a night. That is for comped and noncomped rooms. Depending on play that fee can be taken off. I believe the venetian/palazo also have a similar resort fee. This info is for LV only. I do not know of AC, Reno, etc...

are charged separately..

Or not charged, as is the case with Harrahs.
May I ask why you keep bringing up fees that don't exist as far as the OP needs be concerned?

Concur with Shadroch

Multiple times staying comped at HET properties in LV...no tax, and certainly no resort fees. They tout the lack of resort fees as a matter of fact.

Another interesting aside, I did not pay any tax or anything on our last comped stay at the Showboat in AC one week ago. I thought it was strange considering the last free stay at Harrah's in AC did cost a $6 (I believe) tax.

good luck :joker:

The OP needs to call Harrah's to see what they are going to do. If he doesn't have full RFB I believe they're going to put a hold on his credit card for a fixed amount for anticipated food charges against his room. The hold will be released if he has no charges at checkout....JtMM:cool:

Harrahs will put a hold on your CC. Not for food charges, but for any incidentals- honor bar, phone calls, pay per views, ect, ect, including damage to the room or walking off with the blow-dryer.

I stand corrected...upon reviewing my credit card statement online, I was charged the $13 tax for the comped room in AC. Thought I was getting an even better deal when the paper receipt showed everything zeroed out :p

I get charged $5 per night in AC for some tax. Some places I can use comp $ to pay the tax, some not.

Ask for a host. The management may have changed since Harrah's took over, but many things may still be the same. There was a special room up the escalator from the casino floor where you could pick up free bottles of water, have a cup of coffee and enjoy cookies or other refreshments on the house. Your host, who could be called to meet with you there, could also supply you with certain comps like free tickets to their buffet, one of the best in town, free slot or table play, and assorted other perks, including arrangements for a return trip with comped rooms.

What if he doesn't play much or at all at that property. Can they then change their mind at checkout (or after) and revoke the comps and charge him regualar room rate? I ask because I don't Think Billy is planning on playing at that location. He is planning on running around playing all the match play and freebies that he can get and playing a lot of $5 games downtown. In other words, if he stiffs them, can they revoke the comps and charge him at checkout?

I know you're not addressing me, but I don't believe the gambling side and the reservation side coordinate that closely, at least not by the day of departure. What I would expect is that he will not be offered room comps in the future if he does not play there. He could spend a few hours there playing $10 or $15 dollar games, which if I recall had LS and RSA, but that may have changed since they were bought by Harrah's last year. I did hear that the HL games were beatable, but I don't know first hand. Also, he may choose to play their VP machines, if he can find a full pay one. He'll have to decide if room comps are worth pursuing.

I wasn't directing that question at anybody in particular, so thanx for your input. It was asked of me, and I have no idea as I have never stiffed an offer. Shad seems to know much about that kind of stuff, so was hoping for the poster's sake he would offer an opinion. As for the HL room, I know Billy won't be going there. $15 games are probably out of his range. He's coming to Las Vegas specifically to play $5 and $10 games.

I've stayed at HET props and stiffed them many a time and never received a charge for something. I make it a point never to play a HET prop when I stay there until after I check out and the bags are in my car.

The only times I have heard of this happening is when you go thru a host and ask for RFB.
With Harrahs this year, I've used over two dozen comped nites and my tier score hasn't cracked 1,000, most of which I did in a single session in Laughlin.
