Buying a BS card and actually using it

this is one of the things that absolutely astounds me!!

I see very few people play basic strategy correctly... usually maybe one person per every other table I sit at... and almost never on a $10 table....

Also, I know for a fact that my last 3 day trip to Vegas 2 weeks ago, I only saw ONE person with a basic strategy chart!! hell , I still carry one in my pocket in case I forget what to do on my splits (those I just cannot seem to memorize).... THEY even sell charts in the giftshops!!!

as far as counters,,, I don't think I have ever seen one..... so they either are notthere or their spreads are real tight
Your mention of a BS card brought this to mind.
Early AM, I am playing at a table with one other player who happens to have a BS card sitting in front of him. The card looked old and worn, but the truth is, it is also hardly used. He gets 2,2 vs 4 and does not split. He actually gets 8,8 vs 8 and hits a 10 for a bust. Then he gets A,7 vs 5, looks at the card and says loud, "this makes no sense at all" and does not double. In 45 minutes, there were untold times he just ignored his card, and the only time he looked at it, he also ignored it.
Why buy it, why carry it, why put it on the table???
This is by far not the only time I have seen this. In fact, it is much more common that the person who has the card and uses it for all plays.

If you think a little deeper about this you might come to the conclusion that the casinos already understand this and know that selling those cards will not reduce their blackjack profits because a number of people who buy them and bring them to the tables, still do not use them.
