Match play coupon

I have the same question too. Especially when a coupon is in large amount. I have a match play in 150. My min bet is 100. so I wouldn't like to use it when the TC calls for anything less than 3x bet. But I don't know if that will give away any hint as an AP.

If possible, I'd place it on a bet which would normally justify at least the "real" amount of money that you're playing on the coupon, just to reduce risk a bit.

The count, plus or minus, is going to have a marginal effect on the value of the coupon. Just play it whenever. Read the Dog Ass Johnny arcticle.

I would guess the line in craps is still better than the coupon. Maybe at +5 or so it becomes comparable.

No, because when you make BJ an even money game it is no longer +EV. You wouldn’t play a 6:5 game, so why would you play a 1:1 game? The coupon also doesn’t cover doubles and splits which are big money makers/savers. When you make BJ an even money game it is worse than other games like craps. That is why coupons are usually more valuable at other games.

Yes, if you're willing to wait for that better TC.

Let's say you'll have to wait 100 hands for a 2% advantage rather than a -0.5% advantage. On a $100 match play, you'd expect about an extra $2.50 value out of your coupon.

Remember that if you're sitting down at the table to wait for this high count, you need to subtract your expected losses ... so if you're flat betting $5 waiting for a high count, you can expect to lose $2.50 in the same number of hands.
