Cover idea

I just got back from Vegas, and saw quite a few people on the floor with lanyards and plastic badges for the various conventions and trade shows. There was one that wrapped up, and it resulted in quite a few discarded name badges laying around.

I grabbed one, but didn't wear it. It looked like a good choice for looking like a ploppy.

Thoughts?

Very good idea.

There's no reason for that level of research. Wearing your badge openly only opens you up to scrutiny; you might run into people who are from the company you're allegedly from, or have other conventioneers wonder about your company, for instance.

Either save your convention nametags from conventions you go to or go out and buy some in a few different colors; put one around your neck and then tuck the nametag part under your shirt. It's still pretty obvious you're wearing a nametag but nobody needs to see the actual tag. When asked about it, just say you're in town for a convention and you don't like to talk about work off the clock.

No fuss, no muss.

Yo the name tag badge worked for me when i was 19, i went into the casino with my boss who was blatantly old enough to gamble, we both sat at the table after coming from the convention center in AC still wearing our nametags, i think it may have had an effect on me not getting IDed

I think its a good idea though, it certainly couldnt hurt, iv done much more trivial things in an effort to apear stupid.
