CRISS ANGEL the "Mindfreak" who has a show called "Mindfreak" on A&E and who will have his own magic show with Cirque de Soleil at the Luxor next year... stated on Larry King Live the other night that he is banned from playing Blackjack at most casinos. He's banned from playing poker too.
He did a pretty amazing trick with Larry... where there were four objects on the table... and he asked Larry to pick up one of the objects while he turned away and closed his eyes. He asked him some questions, and based on the way Larry spoke with his voice he was able to guess correctly which object King chose to pick up.
He did state that he has been wrong before, but most of the time is correct. To do this on Live TV was pretty gutsy too. Criss Angel stated that he as studied human behavior. And that's how he did it, and how he's so good at poker. He didn't say much about blackjack in particular, other than that he's banned from playing it.
I'm just curious, have any of you read a lot about human body language? I bet you if you did read a lot about it you could be as good as Angel. This has kind of inspired to want to learn to play poker. I think I am already good as it is at reading people's body language. Most people don't have a clue.
I'm really not sure how understanding good body langauge would apply to blackjack. If the dealer doesn't check for an Ace, there's no way. Even if he did, it's too subtle.
Here is a video I found of Criss Angel playing poker with Professional Poker Player Evelyn Ng: Criss Angel - Poker. Okay, this video doesn't prove anything. So don't put too much of your response in regards to this video. The rest of what I said should make sense. Any books you've all read on body language that have helped you win poker?
