Does anyone subscribe to the notion that some dealers are easier to beat than others? Do you ever quit a dealer because he/she just can't be beat, but stay with another dealer because you always have good luck with him/her? Is there something to this? I'd like to hear your comments. I put it under voodoo because I know of no scientific basis for ascribing wins or losses to the person dealing.

For me it's a table that I can't seem to win at. I've had huge losses there. Why don't I just stay away from it? Because I know of no scientific basis for ascribing wins or losses to the table!

Yea! It's funny how our mind wants us to think it's the dealer or the table. You are right. You can't give in to stupid thinking.

Daily Quota is just a little play on words. It's like today's quote allowance.

Pitch vs. shoe

When I play DD, I have dealers that I will not play against.
When I play shoe games, it does not matter.
In DD the dealer holds the cards and can manipulate/control the cards if he is good. (The casino better not find out.) The casino does not want to risk the penalty. I don't think the shoe games are as easy to control. Even though I have heard of it.

On the other hand, I know some dealers who have trouble standing and dealing at the same time.:laugh: They make so many mistakes, that it is always worth playing this game. If they make a mistake that does not favor you, correct them. If they make a mistake in your favor, Shut up and let them catch/correct their own mistakes!:cool2:

I am guilty as charged!

I play all over...bounce around, playing all up and down "the stretch of casinos", playing against many of the same dealers on a day to day basis. I notice that against certain dealers I can seem to do no good and they appear unbeatable. Many of the dealers are used to seeing me and we are on a first name basis even! Past experiences will affect which dealers I go up against or how I may play aginst a certain dealer unfortunately. I know deep in my heart of hearts that I am wrong for thinking like this after studying and evaluating the words of wisdom from whizbang grand wazoo legendary blackjack types that I have much respect for...so WHY? Why do I get jittery about going up against a dealer that has gotten the better of me? Psychological reasons, David against Goliath syndrome, bad memories of being up against this dealer that had all appearances of being unstoppable? YES!!!
I'm sure I am wrong for allowing experiences in the past with given dealers to affect my play or even IF I play against them.

There was once a dealer who bragged about how much money he'd taken from players. He thought he was the best dealer ever and was unbeatable.

In 20 minutes, I pulled $300 from him. I walked away. I said "There goes your perfect record."

I only did that to get the point accross to this ass and also the fact that I'd never be at that casino again (indian joint in rural wisconsin)

Yes, there is a female dealer in Metropolis, Il, who I have never won a single hand ever against. I thought is was just me, but I play with some regulars there and they have said the same thing. If the casino wants to clear a bj table, all they have to do is put her there. I kept telling myself she was just a regular dealer, but one Saturday night, I saw her clean out seven players in under 30 minutes. Only new people sit at her table. I am playing and she relieves a dealer, I move.

Used to get two of them every Sunday for my friends in Paducah.

I live about 35 miles north of the city. There is a Superman museum still there and the casino is owned by Harrahs. The guy that owns the museum also opened Hollywood museum. I have been in the Superman museum several times, but not the Hollywood one. I pass it going to the casino. The casino is a riverboat and it occasionally closes if the water level gets too low. Illinois has weird laws about the placement of casinos. I have never had the pies you mention, what is the name of the motel?

Thanks, Aslan. The Bird man of Alcatraz is also buried there. I like trivia and blackjack. One year, I went to the Superman Festival and saw Adam West there. It is just a neat little town, better when I leave a winner.
