Do casinos monitor CTR's?

I have read a good deal about CTR's and it makes sense that they are to be avoided if you are trying to evade taxes. I'm happy to pay the taxes on my winnings, however I do wish to avoid the gaze of the casino. Will putting my name on file via a CTR make me any more likely to get 86'ed in the future? Does casino management / security ever look in the CTR files or is that off limits to them? Thanks.

Here are some laws pertaining to CTR's. That aside, the best info I could find was an excerpt from "Whale Hunt in the Desert". The host Steve Cyr was trying to track down the name of a high roller had just been playing under a false name. As a result, none of the critters knew the player's real name. So Steve went to the cage, gave the cashier a $20, and in return received all the dude's info. So it appears that CTR's are supposed to be off limits, but we can not rely on this.

The reason to avoid a CTR is to avoid being required by law to turn your personal information over to the casino. If you're playing at stakes where a CTR is a factor, there's a pretty good chance that playing anonymous (or under a phony name) is in your best interest. Playing anonymous makes it harder for the casino to track your play, and gives them less information to send to other casinos if they decide to add you to a shared database or flyer you. If you've decided to play rated or have already given the casino your personal information, there is no real reason to avoid a CTR.

Only if your name is heated up. If you have a clean name then you are relatively safe for the time being (although it is always good to avoid them). If you want to get 86ed fast, refuse to sign one.

I wouldn't rely on information from a fictional book. Just look how many threads we have about Mezrich's books, the TV specials and the movie 21. They aren't meant to be taken literally.

they don't care about CTRs, but if you are playing refusal (or even worse with a different name) then they may care depending...

to be honest, from everything i've read experienced and seen, nobody cares about CTRs.

I wonder what would happen if you were a trespassed player playing undercover, and they discovered this when you signed a CTR. What a mess.

CTR is not something I'd get myself into in a regular game but there are a few sidebets I play that could put me there.

I play at stakes off the charts (often $5K to 10K on the table at once) and almost never have to CTR. Two words: Chip Stockpile. I avoid CTR's because I never play under my real name. I would prefer to play unrated but the casinos really put the squeeze on you for a name...so I give them one....never my own. If I'm under my real name I still use chips but if I have to CTR it's no big deal....and I pay my taxes.

do you know what information on the player's card is available to the pb's? e.g. should you "know" that you are a 30 year old male living in miami?
