Does Flash1296's use of LARGE TEXT bother you?

I have only been posting here for a few months but I have been following this forum for a year and a half. I consider myself a veteran counter, I feel I am well read and a student of the game on top of that I have had success at the tables. I am, no bones about it, not a professional, I play 300-500 hrs/yr.

I truthfully have no problem with Flash posting in caps. All should be aware that font, in place of a voice, induce tone. If the voice did not make errors I would not have a problem with the tone, caps induced, is typically condensending and know-it-all.

I would and I probably speak for others would never jump on Flash if his posts were not ripe with error. For Flash is someone who is not a beginner and not asking questions on how to become a better player. Flash, I am sure is an experienced player and not only wants to show off how much he knows but is very willing to pass it on.

Therefore, if he wants to help people like his cronies have stated, he should be 100% accountable and not mislead those he tries to help. I can think of three completey erroneous posts he has made.

1) No ES in Canada
2) Canadian Casinos do not have a right to tresspass players.
3) The tie bet in baccarat cannot be beat with counting.

Another point he made regarding an advanced technique by piggybacking on a player with a small bet and actually buying his bet to make an index play. I can see some strength in this but there was no expanding on the idea, therefore not helping anyone, such as myself, who is not a pro but a veteran and would love to learn something new that may add something viable to my arsenal.

Yes he does apologise or backtrack or be high on drugs when he writes these but he is still wrong and the many rookie or wannabe AP's should know that these posts are wrong regarless of the reason they were posted.

I cannot pass a fault and I do not think a forum like this should give someone a license to post wrong info that is not "jumped al over" regarless of the mental state, font, experience level etc.

So I vote for the caps to stay for personality sakes or whateve, but I will not stop calling him out on his posting that are wrong.

I agree with Marty here. I don't give a **** how this joker chooses his font. To tell you the truth I don't care if a band of idiots follows his piss poor advice either. But if I read something that smells of a lie or is just plain wrong or ignorant, I enjoy calling him out on it. Let me ask all the little flashettes out there that buy into his garbage, who do you consider to be pros or at least reputable long time players on this site besides flash? How many times have you found these other players to give false or just stupid information out that needed to be apologized for constantly. Now I know even those that claim to be real might not be, but for arguments sake what other pro/veteran is giving out so much bum advice. I will admit sir flash a lot occasionally pulls a small nugget of useful info out of ass, but when you screw up so friggin much sometimes its hard to even take a look at it. Now you guys are getting lucky that its close to the holidays and I'm stuck in this freakin northeast without much to do. Normally I can't play this message board game like the rest here because I am a traveling player with real games to play. So for all those who get it, police this crap and keep the bozos in check.

Doesn't bother me at all but it does make me wonder if he also writes/types in large letters in other forms of correspondence (e-mail, love letters) or stuff like grocery lists

I can tell you that when it comes to emails, you can stop wondering, he does.

In general though, this whole thread has to be making FLASH feel really important now. Maybe he feels that the font legitimatizes what he has to say...after all, he is a "veteran of the BJ wars." We should be more respectful to a vet. Let the guy feel important. :devil:

While I do not actually comprehend what it is about formatted text that is objectionable, I keecanp my text size and bold-facing to a minimum.

Hey Flash - you do the best you can.

I'm not gonna vote or anything but, I don't even know why, the more you use normal size fonts, the less I guess it seems to me you are somehow "shouting" at me or something.

Which, you know, might be very well more of my problem than yours lol.

I'd just rather any differences of opinion that we may or may not have not from time to time maybe be less a battle of fonts than just exchanging opinions.

Everybody has their style lol - personally I just dont have the patience to add all that bold,clor, size crap, etc lol.

But, hey, if it makes you feel any better, I used to type like in an email and use "u" for "you", etc and people complained so now I try harder to use real English lol.

Buit, yeah, especially the bottom half of your post above was absolutely completely acceptable to me lol. You bold, underline, I guess even color, all you want in that size :grin:

I believe he is. I remember numerous posts where he clarified this. I can specifically remember one where i told him if you hold ctrl+scroll the wheel you can change the size of font on all websites on the internet. I dont hold it against him in any way.

Happy Holidays to you big cat, may you get your feast on in more ways than one. I'll be back in action hopefully by the weekend. In the meantime I may just hit up these northeast joints to pass the time for a few days. Not my first choice but there is enough opportunity where it will at least be better than hanging around reading some ridiculous posts.

Well said above. Not everyone is mistake free. I have seen FLASH's post on this and another board. He might have said something not 100% correct but I don't believe that's his intention to mislead people. I have other thoughts on this subject. But I would rather not say it loud to avoid more non-bj related material showing up on this board.
