Does your count determine whether to hit?

As you probably know from my numerous and most of the time ignorant posts, I am a beginning CC. I know basic strategy pretty well, but lets say i have a true count of like +5 or somethign, and I get 15, and they have, lets say, an 8, do I ever stand? It seems like it is highly probable that I will bust.

The short answer to the question you are asking is yes.

This is the next step up from basic card counting, which is just varying your bet size depending on what the count is.

They are known as indices or indexes, and there are a very large number of them possible, but its only really worth learning the first 18 or so.
Its just like having another version of Basic Strategy, or several different versions actually, depending on what the count is.

Ok,

So i just learned Hi-Lo from that Counting Edge site. WHat book will advance me in my ideas with indixes and stuff, and give me a better edge? I have heard that Blackbelt is good, but is it too advanced?
