Where is that # listed? m
They're not listed.

But, if your asking how I knew. I was simply keeping track of the posts, under Current Active Users, on the main page. I waited and watched for about 15min to see who got the 100Kth post.
A few weeks ago I proposed to Ken, that the selected poster should win a free tourney book. He agreed, but it looks like hes forgotten.

Its possible, that Ken has access, to detailed info, regarding the #'s. Stats.

Congrats of Blackjackinfo.coms 100,000th Post!
Yes, congratulations for the helpful and informative site. Most important is all the hard work it takes to maintain and update this site!

I have one suggestion, since 30% of the posts are bj related and 70% are other, maybe a name change is an order.

something in the order of:
satirical issues and politics of the 21 century info.com or

sip21info.com

BJC

PS:
Sorry but I just had 2 - 14 hour sessions of counting between -40 to +40, sat in 4 hours of bumper to bumper traffic to get home, and the last thing I want to see on my favorite site is all the economic, political, and trashy journalism posted on the BJ boards.

Okay I opened the door, I'm waiting for the grenades. Who's going to throw the first one?

I can't think of any reason one would ever do this. You can always "double for zero" and just hit one card.

All doubling plays are +EV, so any doubling for less would be sacrificing EV. Perhaps if you have a really huge bet out, and you're hoping some variance reduction?
I think I read that some of the Northern Michighan casinos allow doulbing on split aces but not hitting split aces. In this case the $1 double for less is advantageous in some circumstances. I think Wong wrote about it but may be mistaken.

In tournaments

DOUBLING FOR THE ABSOLUTE MINIMUM PERMITTED is an advanced B J Tournament play.

You use it when you want to receive a card face down that keeps your opponent from seeing your resultant hand and scaling their final bet to suit.

Actually Rukus is correct - if you KNOW you'll get an Ace then you can make a huge bet, like say 25% or more of your BR,
and you would NOT be overbetting. But if I then got a doubledown hand, I doubt that I'd double. zg
ZG have you been on the Flygaric's? Knowing you have an ace coming is a massive advantage and yes you should bet large, but 25% of your entire BR is just ludicrous!

Ok, so you would not double a hand and miss out on +EV but what if you need to split? You would then have 50% of your entire bankroll on the felt, or would you just hit that pair of aces? What if you needed to resplit? What if you needed to resplit more than once? You could have your entire BR out on one hand and regardless of the results and the fact you have a strong advantage, you would be completely gambling with your AP career.

I've been in this situation many times, I personally put out table max. however in the games I play, table max isn't anywhere near 25% of my BR. Once after knowing 100% that my first card was an ace, I resplit 5 times. Would you have just missed out on this opportunity?

Maybe you mean 25% of what you have on you (assuming you don't have your entire BR in your pocket). Maybe you currently have a small BR, which is easily replenish?

Please explain.

Thanks

Harry.
