What's the closest joint that's worth visiting?

I guess Niagra Falls wouldn't be too ridiculous of a drive. Plus, I here there's some sort of other attraction there.
It's about 9 hours to AC from Erie, unless you drive very very fast...shadroch said:It has to be at least six hours one way to AC. I'm going to guesstimate its at least an hour and a half to Buffalo, three hours to Turning Stone. You are in the middle of no where.

No need to drive into Canada to see the Falls, just park on the US side and cross the Rainbow Bridge. (That sounds a lot worse than it is, I know.)shadroch said:Getting across the border can be a real hassle, especially on weekends. The American Falls are much nicer than the Canadian ones, but you must cross over to see them.
Be aware that not all car insurance is valid in Canada, and you may need a special waiver. Same thing goes for rental cars.
I still think you should just enjoy the beach.
It is a little over an hour to Seneca Allegany from Erie. However, they recently opened a slot place on Presque Isle -- There was talk of possible table games at some point, but I don't know much more than that.shadroch said:Just to be sure, you are talking about the gaming conditions, not the tourista ones, yes?
No passport required when driving in until 1/1/2008, but it's better if you have one. If not be sure to have good picture ID and preferably a birth cert.shadroch said:Good question.
You need one to fly in,but not if you come by boat.I haven't driven across lately so I'm not certain.I think the answer is no,but am not certain.
