Extremely hard

#1
I have been working with rolling dice and having them come out what i want. I have unbelievablely good hand eye cordination and am nasty at cutting decks of cards. I have been working with this for quite some time and allthough from what i have been told i am progressing way faster then normal. I however do not think i am getting any better i have the different grips down and the basic idea of what im doing but man is it hard. I was wondering if anyone out there had any pointers, or short cuts they used. I would ask that you refrain from posting any techniques out in the open PM me if you got something for me.

Throw from the middle line, so stand next to the stick man. Go right from the middle line. Play on a standard length table, not the long monsters. Do not hit the back wall and set the dice fast. Throw gentle, very gentle...and wish for the best. I played in Canada when they first made craps legal in the casino. The dealers, pit, knew nothing, I got away with murder throwing, and forced all kinds of errors. After 2 months I was barred from craps and had my picture taken, by hand flash camera, on the casino floor.

Those were fun days. Have not been back since.

Not alot of stories, but some. Best if you just play without alot of incidents. But I guess I, the more I think about it, have had my share, wish I hadn't.

But I have had alot of great times. :band2:

Met a few great people, Like the "Midwest Masters Of Advantage". Overall a very sweet ride, and any negative events I take full responsibility for :(

The "BJ Bash's" have been great experiences, the last one the best.

Sure, someday, meeting, that would be fun. :)

I would love to attend the BJ BASH it sounds like the best time ever. Nobody i know really likes the casino, well they like it but they are far to intimidated by the casino and by the brainwork to become an AP. I in turn have no one to talk about anything to in person (im a people person), my girlfriend is an AP but does not wish to talk about it alot or much at all, only right before a trip or when were at the casino.
Being able to go and meet guys who are fine tuned war machines in the battles against the casino empire, is a dream for me and i hope to be able to not only meet you but many other players out there, possibly even play together some day if a fovorable situation arose.

SORRY ABOUT BEING WAY OFF TOPIC EVERYONE I GOT A LITTLE EXCITED AND IT GOT AWAY FROM ME FOR A SECOND BUT I WRESTLED IT BACK

I am glad you are a people person, come to think about it,, all.... "Masters" are! Hmmm. Makes for an outstanding group.

Do not hit the back wall
Can you do this consistently without getting your rolls disqualified? Usually the rules state you have to hit the back wall or it's no roll - they'll let it slide if it happens once or twice, but you can't do that forever.

Not really. That's the casino's first line of defense against APs...it's all about tapping that sucker with minimal force. But that's my opinion.

good luck

Correct, but you would be surprised what you can get away with at many places. My opinion, when you hit the wall all skilled throws are null :(

I was talking about a time when you could get away with just about anything.

I am also not averse to "pushing the envelope" at craps to get the edge.

Fair enough CP...I was just responding to callipygian's question about these days' conditions. Although I am a bit "jealous" of the days of which you speak. I do have to say that some joints are considerably more tolerant than others, and toking can go a long way with that regard. But the tips affect dealers' morale and attitude moreso than the suits, so that only goes so far.

But I do slightly disagree with you CP with the statement that hitting the wall randomizes all rolls. Hitting the base at the end of their roll can work quite nicely ;)

good luck

Read Stanford Wong's "Wong on Dice"
Great book...do you have a copy?

Scarne on Dice is pretty wild just from the historic standpoint of dice games. Relevance is slim these days, but still pretty interesting.

Depends on the pit, some might not care that much. An old man with a big hearing aid might get away with more because he can pretend not to hear the box man telling him to hit the end wall and the suit doesn't want to look like he's picking on someone who's hard of hearing. Test out different crews. Some places automatically call 'no roll' if the dice don't hit the end wall, this is about the dumbest thing a pit can do (unless they are very suspicious of dice control) because fewer rolls per hour = less profits for the house. In my experiences and results I am leaning towards CP's thoughts that when hitting the end wall with any dice set almost all of the possible +EV is out of the game... though a believer would say I just don't have the skills or sample size. Throwing a blanket roll a few inches short of the wall however I have had modest success with.

Yes Chef JJ, I have a copy.
Nice! I've read it, but it was a library copy. Of course, I read it after I formulated a lot of my own personal approaches to AP craps, but it still was cool to see an expert's view.

good luck
